    Annoying set up and no AirPrint Inexpensive, but set up is archaic and confusing compared to other printers. No touch screen or auto-connect features. Still employs keypad with alpha-numeric functions. Software CD would not auto-run. Most disappointing is the lack of AirPrint direct wireless printing. You must save your document to a folder first and use Brother’s proprietary app to print. Not convenient for an IPhone household. Returned it for an HP Envy 7155

    Doesn't work well with Macs I am very unhappy with this product. The driver available for Macintosh is a rudimentary model of what they offer for PC and is clunky and cheap. There is no OCR scanning function, despite the fact that it's listed in the specs as a feature. It's one of the most important things I use. Also, there is no two-sided scanning. One would think that since the machinery exists to do two-sided printing, that it could scan that was as well, but no luck. If I can't find a better driver, I'm sending this bac... read more

    Piece of junk. I guess it is partly my fault as I bought an inexpensive printer, I thought even the lower cost Brother would be okay. But this piece of junk just doesn't work. It started off refusing to print because there is something off about the paper tray. The paper tray is a plastic piece of junk. The piece at the front end that should stick up to hold the paper has fallen off twice now. After it started printing it printed ghost images. I spent hours trying to find out how to fix that.     Slowest printer I ever owned I can not believe how SLOW this printer is. UNBELIEVABLE how long it takes to print a document. 16 pages took 2 hours to print. Horrible! I am getting rid of this printer ASAP. Wish I hadn't bought it.

    ocr scanning dont buiy this printer for ocr scanning brother tells you it will scan ocr but they forget to tell you that you have to buy ocr software to make it scan ocr.

    I can't wait till this thing dies It is not user friendly at all. The paper tray and the doc feed hold way less than other home printers I've had. It totally stops printing when any of the colors are out. The picture quality isn't great at all. To send a fax you've gotta go thru a menu and select several different things every single time. You can program #s for "speed dial" but you absolutely cannot speed dial them. They just show up on a list. Even to make a copy you have to hit a couple of buttons.     I bought this printer from Staples and it's the worst printer I have ever owned in 20 years of owning printers . Even with the warranty it's just such a waste of time . I wish I would have spent more to have something that actually works . Time is money and this is costing me a fortune in waisted time dealing with their customer support team . I am on hold now as I type . Will definitely spend more , cheap printers need cheap parts and thus you get what you pay for . you have been warned .

    Amazing savings on ink!! I did not believe it would really save as much as it claimed on ink, but it has! In fact, it's already paid for itself in the ink savings!! I was spending over $100 a month in ink previously - I bought this printer on July 23rd. Just bought my first black replacement (for $20) Only caution I would give is that it is slow! If you print a lot or need something quick, this isn't going to do it.

    Not so good after all... (I did like the printer BUT...) Changing my review: it does not do what I needed. I can’t print from my iPhone nor can I scan remotely.

    Does not Airprint. This printer does not Airprint from my smart phone or tablet. I assumed incorrectly that “wireless” meant it would. You have to click into the app to print or navigate to the webpage within the printer app. It’s just not user friendly if you plan to mobile print. Overall the printer seems ok.
