Miami Arts Charter- MAC for short, will always be my home! I developed a love for theater, made awesome memories, and learned crucial life skills. I was able to take AP courses, free ACT/SAT prep, founded clubs, participated in main stage shows & thespian competitions, National Honor Society, Young Arts, Umatilla Youth camp, even took a "personal development" course that taught me how to manage credit, house hunt, file taxes, etc. These enriching experiences shaped me as an individual and helped me be better prepared for the... read more
It's a very diverse and open school. So much art and the ability to bounce off other students learn from them. You hear the voices of students and learn from their experiences. Teachers are supportive and open minded.
Teachers connect with students to make it a better and more comfortable learning environment. So glad I get to go to a performing arts school.
Very well-rounded in terms of the academics and arts, as well as a generally friendly and understanding teacher body and experienced arts directors.
Interesting school with nice opportunities and great for college readiness. They don't explain to you directly about their program, however, they offer a good program for college readiness and advanced placement. Experiences within the arts depend on which art. I attended MAC for 6 years and it was definitely the best way I could have spent my middle and highschool careers. The staff is excellent and the teaching structure is award winning. Special thanks to Raul Perdomo for being my arts teacher for 6 long years.
I've attended this school for 7 years, and I love it! They provide amazing opportunities for every single student that is passionate about their art. The teachers try to not give us an overload of assignments because they know we have a lot to do for our art. If you really like your art, this school will definitely help you develop. The school also has an amazing view from the 6th floor lunch area and is surrounded by great restaurants.
I really liked the people and diversity there. Since it is an arts school there are many amazing opportunities and many different people. I attended for 3 years and have now realized how you don't get your normal school experience and are somewhat restricted. You are sometimes treated like you are a little kid and you do not realize the restrictions until you leave, but they also have their benefits.
Great music program. The teachers and instructors are very helpful and push you to be the best that you could be. Would recommend to anybody from 6-12 grade.
