In the past, I have had satisfactory service experiences with BMW of Annapolis (except the consistent lack of loaner vehicles available). Ive owned BMW's for the last 25 years. I recently took my 2003 BMW 325ci in for repair on Wednesday. It was overheating when sitting idle. I took the car in to Jane. She told me that they were out of rentals..... Hold on to that for the rest of the story. So I said fine, although they "advertise' free loaners for service. I've owned BMW's for years now and finally decided to take the step to an M. I do all my business with a different BMW dealership then this one. The M3 model I'm looking for is hard to find and I want to drive it before I spend a lot of money on a race car. Do NOT Go There and Service or Buy a CAR at BMW of Annapolis. I have taken my BMW X5 and BMW M3 there for service for the past 4 years. They just turn around every time and tell you that you have to spend 300, 500, or 1000 more for service. I just took my X5 there for inspection I and spent about 700 out the door. When they serviced my car I had no leak before, but when I got my car back from service, they told me that I have a oil leak. I went to this dealer and could not get help from a single salesperson. I wandered the entire lot, wandered the whole showroom, made eye contact with several employees that were standing around chit-chatting, and not one person spoke to me. I take that back, one person on his way out asked if I needed help, I said yes, and he said he would find someone. 10 minutes later, still nothing, I left and drove to Tischer...where I got the EXACT SAME LACK OF TREATMENT. I purchased a 3 series from BMW of Annapolis and was very satisfied with the sales and financing experience. Unfortunately, I was also satisfied with the service dept until recently. After reading many of the reviews on this site, it looks like most negative reviews are due to service issues. Loaners are not available unless you schedule service 2 or more weeks in advance. I purchased a new 2010 Z4 and was encouraged by the salesman to purchase a product called Resist All. Only to find out after purchasing the car that everthing about the product was not fully disclosed. Resist All is supposed to protect the exterior of the paint from water marks, tree sap, etc. It is supposed to protect the interior fabric against transfer of dye from clothing, stain, etc. After the first week and the first car wash, the car had streaks that took forever for me to wipe out. We visited the dealer 3 times in the winter of 2009/10 because my lease was expiring and I wanted to roll over into a new 5 series. We were assigned to very inept salespeople who knew less about the cars than we did. They killed a $53000 "deal" over a difference of $300. We decided to go to Passport BMW, a long drive for us, to work with a great salesperson.
Every time I deal with BMW of Annapolis I am disappointed. When I bought the car, I had an "average" used car buying experience. Not that great, but some haggling is expected. Plus they screwed up the registration. I submitted BMW's own INTERNAL review via a phone call TO ME, I probably gave an average of 3/5. A couple of days later the salesman, named "John" (larger guy) literally called me at work to cuss me out.
