I just joined Mountainside Fitness executive club (after Arizona reopened from the Covid-19 shut down) and pretty happy with this location because it doesn't get over crowded. The gym is very clean and is located on the second floor at Scottsdale Waterfront. You do have to pay a one time $60 fee to access this location but I think it's reasonable. I just wish they stayed open later during the week and weekends.
This review is actually for the Desert Ridge location. We've been members for 8+ years and have recently seen a decline in equipment, cleanliness and especially staff. The staff seems very young and unprofessional. There are a few good front desk staff (Rod) and mostly good instructors, but other than that pretty lackluster.
Horrible! We signed up for a membership and then the following week we cancelled the membership due to a physical disability . We had someone call last month that our dues were late. I told them we do not have a membership and that we went twice then cancelled. We were sent to corporate then on site with no resolve. They still have an entire year worth of membership fees that we never used or were ever members. They are not reimbursing us or even admitting that it was their fault they did not cancel the membership.
This is the smallest Mountainside location I've visited. It has all of the basic equipment, but just one of each machine, so if somebody is camped out on the leg press for 20 minutes, you were out of luck. But it's perfectly functional for most workouts, and not usually crowded when I come around 6-7 in the morning. My primary complaints are with the lack of maintenance. This facility is great. The staff here are great, super friendly...clean nice facility. I would highly recommend Mountainside fitness over the big box corporate gym facilities. Mountainside is strict about cleanliness, safety and the important issues that I value.

We recently visited Scottsdale for a week and purchased a couple's membership for $84, which covers a month. Size and Atmosphere: The gym is smaller than other locations but has a friendly staff. Equipment: While the equipment is limited, there are well-organized sections for machines, weights, and cardio. We particularly enjoyed the sunny outdoor area. Location: The gym is conveniently located in downtown Scottsdale. You need to cancel your membership in person so don't go running off before canceling!
