It had nothing to do with Thomas, this was our first time doing something like this and we're expecting it to be a quick process based on all we read however it took a long time. Almost like buying a house would.

I don't believe Jake did a good job issue spotting for the underwriting issues I would face. My property was clearly multi-family based on subsequent conversations with the lender and alternate lenders I contacted. Instead we wasted time on a initial single-family loan application and appraisal fees which I could not recover. I had to pay for two appraisals - single-family and multi-family. Overall, my experience was underwhelming. We were initially told that underwriting would take 7–10 days and that there wouldn’t be much communication during that time. However, Mutual of Omaha did not stick to that timeline, and I had to be the one to initiate a follow-up to get a status update. The communication initially was an absolute dream. However, as we approached closing... the communication was extremely lacking. There were some issues that were happening that we were unaware of which almost cost our closing date/time to be pushed back. There seemed to be decent communication between the lending company and our realtor but not with us as the customers. The loan contingency is not removed on time because the HOA document was ordered after the contingency deadline. My husband had to go to the HOA office to get the paperwork himself. We had risk of losing our condo as the seller sent notice to perform due to this fatal mistake. It caused us a lot of stress.
