I wish there was a negative star. It is looney bin. I would never leave a loved one here. I was admitted to detox and found myself in a mental hospital. Terrible facility, awful rooms, gross food, treated like a crazy person and they even screwed up my detox meds so I detox ed med free. Aweful place. Stay away.
DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBER OR ADMITT YOURSELF TO THIS PLACE!!! The website and intake consultants are liars. I voluntary signed myself in for panic attacks and anxiety. I am struggling with coping skills, I made a very hard, huge decision to get help. And instead of getting help. I basically signed myself into prison. The "nursing staff" are rude and verbally rude to patients and barely speak to you. Even when you request, there are "techs" that are regular people who I caught on multiple occasions talking bad about pa... read more
With chronic daily migraine, a sudden change in migraine preventatives, and a high-stress job. I had an anxiety attack in the middle of a major business project. Neurologists and psychiatrists who know SNRI medications were fully booked, so USF suggested North Tampa Behavioral Clinic. I made an appointment for Friday afternoon, and agreed to stay overnight to see an expert physician in the morning. Dr. Rogers was excellent. He explained the (very bad) effects of changing from Effexor to Wellbutrin overnight, the specific ... read more
I would hope that the proper authorities do something about this center. I was in this place unwillingly and was treated in humanely. I was awestruck by the lack of professionalism by all staff members. Most of them were not qualified to do things that a trained mental health professional should have been doing. I was over 8 months pregnant and they refused to give prescribed medications for the health of my child and myself. Thank god the child is still alive. No thanks to Dr. Hart that did not check my medical history or r... read more
The building is very nice and clean but their business seems only to scam the insurance companies and individuals. My son was admitted late on a Tuesday evening (7 PM) -- when I got down to the place, I was not allowed to see or talk to him or any so called dr. there because I did not know his patient ID because they did not give it to me. I waited in the lobby for several hours until they finally agreed to let me call him but not see him. I asked the dr. to call me but he was always too busy or not there. I was told tha... read more
NOT WORTH IT!! DONT TRUST DR KHAN! I am a long term sufferer so I understand the process. This place is a JOKE. Yes, its clean, updated facility, but they really should have bought a few less plasma TVs and spent some money on training their staff. This is a glorified nursing home. The daily mental health tech staff is shockingly ill equipped to work with mental illness patients. We were belittled, made fun of, ignored and treated like feeble children. 24hrs after arriving I received no instruction on rules, procedures, sch... read more
Facility Has Potential but Needs Improvement. I showed up in crisis and they admitted me. I can't complain about that. But this being a new facility it has many quirks to be worked out. It's new and it shows in a variety of ways. I found most staff to be helpful except they do not always offer help but are easy to approach. Some staff were younger and were less experienced and this negatively impacted my stay. The doctor, Dr. B., I saw seemed competent and seemed to want his patients to get better, he prescribed me ... read more
My son was addicted to opiates and alcohol. I took him there after calling and reviewing several facilities. Plus it was close by my home and I could visit. Arrived on Sat. and was told they could not get ins. approval over weekend. ( are you kidding me?) Monday they called and said he had been approved and could come in anytime. I paid his $600.00 deductible and they admitted him. I found out later that they had not even attempted to get his authorization until 2 days after admitting him. His ins. denied his claim twice ve... read more
STAY AWAY! I can't tell you how horrible my sister's experience at North Tampa Behavioral Health was -- first they MISDIAGNOSED her and treated her for the WRONG ISSUE (even though we explained at admittance what the problem was), and then after that was fixed they "accidentally" gave her the wrong medication, resulting in two seizures and a trip to the ER and immediate admittance to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital called to confirm what the hell they had done to my sister and said it was a really good thing that ... read more
