DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT BE ADMITTED TO THIS FACILITY. This is an admit & release scam, no real help was provided to my mother but they not surprisingly felt she was perfectly fine to be released after the 5 days of guaranteed insurance benefit was up. Once we found out where she had been taken we tried for days to get her out but we kept being passed around in a phone tree with a combination of no one having any answers or being hung up on or being spoken to very rudely by staff. This place is terrible. The staff do not care about anyone. One specifically, Cynthia (a tech), is an awful person. She goes out of her way to make the patients feel bad about themselves. I went 2 days and half the 3rd day without brushing my teeth or showering because no one gave me anything to do these things. And after asking multiple times, Cynthia, who was sitting around chatting with co workers all day finally decided to make me a basket with toiletries but she purposely "forgot" a towel. First my son was taken from Avon Park as a Baker Act Patient to this hospital 100 miles and 2 hours away. a little far but even worse he was naked the whole time not even a blanket was given to him . His time in the hospital was spent with a hospital gown with his ass out. No showers were allowed but wait I am not finished he was sent half way to meet me to go home the driver did not speak a word of English past his destination because he had a wrong address my son tried to tell him but he did not understand English. So why would a facility release someone before they are mentally stable? This place did. They put her on a bus to come home and she didn't even have her house key!!! I had to leave work, jump in my car, go to her place to make sure she wasn't walking the streets. I waited for her to arrive at her place, but what a scare! And guess what, she is back in the hospital, not this one! They gave her medicine and sent her home. Follow up report. I managed to get my wife out of there thank God. They were non-responsive to any question we had. My wife told me she slept on a cot and the first night had no pillow. She said the nurses were very rude and would never answer any of her questions. I tried many times to get to her unit and the phone would ring for a long time then go dead. I did speak to one attendant and asked if my wife was leaving today and she said no the has been Baker Acted which in Florida means you are at the mercy of the institutio... read more

This place takes away my peace my family have been to other places but none like this from the staff who is rude do not have the delicacy of communicating with the family. The food is horrible and the patients that should carry a special diet like diabetics This function leaves much to say my relative is diabetic and hypertensive and should eat a snack between meals and treatment to patients is not of good quality does not have hot water. This is a terrible place. We were sent here from St. Joseph's hospital in Tampa. We were told that our daughter would see a doctor today but no. They're trying to keep her overnight and she came here voluntarily. We've been waiting over an hour to see a supervisor. The rooms inside are dirty and all the metal is rusty. Scam!

The inability to do these peoples jobs cost me my own. Everything is disorganized, everyone is every rude, and because of their refusal to sign off on my paperwork for FMLA duting my bakeract abd recovery time I am now terminated. You are horrible people. I had been with my company for two years.

Horrible facility. Did not receive any type of care here. Came for help and didnt even get to see a doctor for days! No structure and they do not care about people. They keep you here for the $$$$$$. Would you pay for a nasty meal?
