Please beware of this facility! Do your research before even thinking of becoming an in-patient. My son went there and foolishly we didn't check reviews. He voluntarily checked in for help. Within 24 hours realized what a mistake it was. There was little to no care . When he requested to be released the threats started. These people are sick. They will detain individuals that do not meet the criteria to be there to suck as much of their insurance money as they can. They continue to try to force you to take prescription drugs while you are there so they can extend your stay longer and collect more. If you don't comply with their wishes they threaten to file a Ba-32 to extend your stay until you can get a court date. This is something out of a horror movie. Run as far and fast as you can!!

Simply a holding tank for disabled people. Hardly saw a psychiatrist for more than 3 minutes at a time. No individual counseling -- only Bingo. I was not helped at all and felt worse when I left than when I entered. DO NOT let yourself or any loved ones go here.

This place is a total scam. My daughter came in looking for outpatient assistance, they waited until after hours and had her sign admission paperwork even though we were en route to the facility. When she stated she wanted to come home they told her they could not because she signed the forms. They illegally baker acted her and then rescinded it once we contacted corporate to call out many unprofessional behaviors. If you can go somewhere else, please do. I've contemplated leaving this review everyday for the last 179 days, my mother was a patient at this facility twice in the matter of a 2 months, with other facility's in between. I called them the 1st day of her intake so they would be up to speed on her mental health, she would call me daily to let me know that she would say and do what ever she had to do so she could leave the facility and un alive her self, I would call them right away to let them know what she was saying. Do not take your children or loved ones here! I worked at NTBH for 7 months. Someone under the age of consent reported they were being assaulted at home and the night shift supervisor and nurse said they were probably making it up for attention. People have snuck razor blades onto the unit because the metal detector had dead batteries and they knew about it. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Tampa Bay Behavioral Center! It is simply a holding cell for homeless, severe drug addicts and drunks. It is 100% a scam for profit sake. Inmates are treated as prisoners. The staff act as prison guards lacking in any compassion or kindness. Upon arrival they purposely make inmates wait anywhere from 2-6 hours to check in. This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! I only gave it 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars. I recently spent 7 days in this facility even though it was supposed to be 3. I didn't get my blood pressure medication every day or on time. One night my blood pressure was 210/130. I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. I asked the nurse (RN Joy) to call for an ambulance to go to the hospital several times and she refused to call. She gave me a blood pressure pill and told me to lay down. Worst place ever. The staff does not treat us good at all. The only good thing about this place is they let you smoke every few hours. The staff does not treat us like humans, only a few of them are there to actually try and help you. The doctors are helpful and nice, but the actual staff is terrible at their job.
