Get directionsIt was a very dated building. People were very open but the environment, I felt, was a little too hospital-like. I wanted more of a community that had a sitting area and a little more open common areas.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights.
lovely grounds; iffy neighborhood; the place seemed sloppy
Business response:
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day.
Gated grounds with gardens. Warm and welcoming. Big. Seems life good food. Activities and outings. Expensive w $4000 admittance fee prior to boarding ($2800 studio) and care fees ($425-850).

Loved this place. It's not in the greatest neighborhood.

The food is awful. Setting up payment schemes when the loved one has long-term care can be challenging.

Hi Anonymous, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a positive review
While they would like you to believe your loved ones will be well taken care of, this simply isn’t the case. Understaffing is a huge issue, Non-English speaking caregivers, rude staff, unresponsive management, no follow-up to concerns raised. Look elsewhere, you will not be happy with the services provided here guaranteed!
Business response:
We have always been open to feedback, but we disagree with some of the comments in this review. Over time we have had many supportive comments about our staff, and we pride ourselves in our follow-up. We have also found that our non-English speaking caregivers are hardworking and caring and are an important part of all senior living communities.
- No understanding of Parkinson's care. - ED doesn't want to make waves. He will smile and say he will address your concerns and then nothing will change. - Regardless of your doctor's prescribed medication times, the med techs will distribute meds when it is convenient for them. - Staff are kind and patient for the most part. Support staff have very little training. Staffing levels are often low at critical times like bedtime and wake-up time. The only way this place makes sense is if you are fully independent and just want... read more
Business response:
We appreciate all the comments regarding our care service, and you bring up a very good point about specific illnesses and how accommodations have to be made on the resident’s behalf. We will share your comments with the staff at the community so that they can follow up with you directly.
Look elsewhere for memory care. Low-skilled, caring, under-supported staff, with leaders that avoid accountability (Front-desk staff are amazing though). You've been warned. Just try and call them after 5pm on a weekend or 6pm on a weekday and see how often you can get someone- for anything.
Business response:
Unfortunately, the feedback provided here is not the full picture of a resident experience. In the evenings our care staff answer the phone when they are at the care desk. We recommend that family members leave a message if the phone is not picked up immediately, so that we can call you right back if we have to briefly step away. We encourage family members to come and speak with us personally to alleviate any miscommunication.
