I have to echo the other things I'm reading here. I gave an extra star because the problem we had did seem to get better with their service. The reason they only get two stars is because of how miserably painful and awful their scheduling and customer service is. For each appointment, they would call and say, "We'll be there in 15 minutes." OK, well, um, apparently I had an appointment today?!?! The one thing that buying the services from Orkin has taught me is to never buy into the commercials. I thought I would get professional quality service from orkin, but what i got was annoying phone representitives. I swear I would explain to them my pest situation and would give me a reference number for my case. WHenever I called back they would ask the same questions over and over again. Had a mouse problem and had Orkin come to "hopefully" rid me of this nasty 4-legged pest. The guy who came onsite was rude, and imo, very bad at what he was supposed to do. He basically sprayed 2 - 3 points around the exterior of my house, and put down 2 traps in my Kitchen. Said, be back in 3 months to check on the traps. I asked about the basement and he replied that "nah, their up here in the kitchen only". He never checked upstairs, downstairs bedrooms etc. Very bad service all round. i hired this company for my restaurant, to make the story short, when we opened the account they said that they will pay for any health department violations. i got fruit flies and they never took care of the problem. i had a problem with the NYHD. when i spoke with them on the phone they said : we never said that. no heart feeling i just don't recommend them professionally. they should stick with the bad bugs but not restaurants

I called Orkin to give me a hand with a hornet's nest on the outside of my house. The salesperson explained that they would spray the nest, but they would not knock it down so as not to cause any damage to my house. That was no problem, until she started asking about the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in my house. Called on Saturday and was given one price. On Monday they had changed it $100 more. They said they would look into why they quoted me two different prices and they never got back to me. This is not a company I will trust and the way they handled the situation was very unprofessional. Fond some one the do the job for $150 less then the first price they quoted. Orkin did me a favor.

Unbelievable! We called Orkin over the summer because of ants. The guy came and my husband signed up for a series of 3 appointments (1 every 60 days) where they come and spray. They charged our credit card and said we could continue after the 3 treatments or call and let them know we were finished after the initial 3 we signed up for. OK. So we just had the 3rd and final appointment and we now live out of the country, so my brother went to house to meet the guy. We read good reviews and called Orkin because we were having what we thought was a bed bug problem. They came out the next day and did an inspection and confirmed that we did have a small problem. We scheduled an appointment for a few days later for them to come back and actually do the extermination. We have a baby in the house so we wanted to be sure that this was done right and wanted to go with a company that offered a guarantee on their work. I had an inspector come out on Friday. He was great and looked very in-depth to find out the cause of the bites I was getting. Originally, I thought it was bed bugs because they had been in our home before. Luckily, the previous exterminator (different company) had eradicated all of them. The Orkin inspector did find the source of my problem-fleas.
