The Pittsburgh service was useless. I paid more than $600 for bi-monthly service for less than a year for an ant problem I had last Spring. When the ants reappeared first thing this Spring, Orkin said, "yea, sometimes that happens," and gave me one free treatment. #wasteofmoney.

It started out great. The person in their call center was fabulous! Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He provided a lot of information, set up the appontment and sent a follow up e-mail. Because of this rare fabulous customer service I didn't balk at the almost $1000 price tag for the cost of the treatment I needed. I left work early to be able to get home in time for my 4:30 appointment time. Arrived home and waited for the tech to call and say they were on their way. I waited and waited and waited. biggest scam. they will get you to sign up for a year then say you don't need to pay for future service if you don't need it then they just show up after you say you don't need and then bills you for a service.

Called them to take care of mice in my basement, the technician came out and placed glue traps in the basement and bait traps outside the house. He showed me where they had chewed thru the garage door seal and said he would have someone contact me to get a replacement that was mouse proof. Well the mice moved upstairs where the cats and my family are even though he said they would stay away from us. Carpenter Ant problem. Orkin quoted me $450 for the year. I asked them if they didn't get the ants the first time will they come back, she said they will come back as many times as needed for the year. Finally got the guy to come out who then proceeded to tell me it would cost "much, much more". Called head office and they back peddled saying that it would be a minimum of $450. Outrageous! I was not going to be held hostage by Orkin. Bunch of crooks. Even if I have to buy 200 cans of ant killer I will do it myself ... read more

The person on the phone was very unhelpful without a quote for a ball park range. Orkin guarantees a 30 day warranty for bedbugs, but states that the lifespan is over 300 days and that females come out to feed around every 60 days. I inquired about the method of treatments including types of chemicals and the spokesperson refused to answer without an inspection. While my review is for the Elk Grove Village, IL location, it's still the same company. For the past 2 months I have been waking up with bites on my arms, legs, ankles, wrist. It was still mildly warm, so I passed it off as mosquito bites. Then.. It started to get cold... Mosquitoes are gone, still getting bit. So I went to my doctor. The only time I saw the exterminator was the day I signed up. He would call and say he was in my drive way. I work and can't just leave my job. This happened 2 times. I was still billed and told that he sprayed the outside. The last time I asked if they could come back the next week when I would be home. I was told no. I told them not to come at all we were through. I still received a bill. I call the manager, but was told he was busy. He never returned my called. I have a contract with orkin to spray for bees. Every year I remind them to please bring a large extension ladder in order to spray the upper part of the house.Every year they fail to bring one.They came to spray last week,again without a ladder.The tech promised me that he would be back on sat. with the ladder.No show or no call.
