We brought our son's future in-laws to Osteria Panevino for our introduction dinner. I had made reservations in advance. Despite reservations we were seated in a noisy outdoor patio. I was disappointed that our reservations did not guarantee a table inside the restaurant. My first plate of pasta arrived slightly burned. They politely replaced it but the second item was bland Service was very attentive but overall would not return to this restaurant.
We arranged to go to this restaurant for New Year's eve dinner with friends from out of town. There was no note on the open table reservation site that there would be a special menu for New Year's eve that would be more than double the cost of the regular menu . This was quite embarrassing since we were the ones who chose the restaurant.
Two members of our party ordered a lunch salad, which arrived after a lengthy delay and lacking all the advertised ingredients except the greens, despite the restaurant being not busy. Server seemed either unaware or unconcerned about the obvious omissions. No wonder this place was unpopular.
The insalata capricciosa was mostly corn. I did not find any pears. I had to ask for sugar for my coffee, the waiter spilled food on the table and did not clean it up. Overall a negative experience. Do not plan to return.
The food was great and for the most part the service was good . However, toward the end of our meal, one of the waiters came up and asked us to clear the table. He was very nice about it and phrased it as a request for a favor to move to the bar, where he said he'd buy us a glass of wine, but it still seemed tacky to ask us to clear the table. Truly disappointing in every way. The food was average at best. The bruschetta was awful, dry and flavorless (how does any kitchen manage that?) The sauce in the cioppino tasted like it came out of a jar or a can and then had some fresh ingredients added to it...not ok! The tables were so close together that they were hard to get in and out of and gave no sense of privacy while dining. The noise level was off the charts. Overall, it was a dismal experience and we were shocked at four star reviews.
Made reservation on open table and had to wait 45 minutes!
Excellent food and service. Very enjoyable experience. Only reason service is three stars is because server did not include an unfinished lobster tail when he packaged left overs from a very expensive pasta and seafood meal! I recommended she call but do not know if she did...discovered next day.
