I usually don't write reviews but our experience warrants one. We have been Pane Vino fans for years but our last two trips have led to Pane Vino being crossed off the list. Less than fresh lettuce, stale croutons, poor service, WAY under cooked meat, a cannelloni dish that was really an overcooked blob of cheese. We'll miss you!!
Overall a very disappointing evening. My wife and i have traveled a great deal and spent many evenings in restaurants like this one. Wait staff seemed in a hurry to get us through dinner. Food was average at best and the price was well above what you would expect gor what we had. Would not recommend to anyone. The only highlight was the wine.
I got to the restaurant on time. Reservation was for 8pm. Around 8:20pm i was informed that my table would not be ready and the suggested transfering me to their "sister" restaurant, just accross the street. We acceptEd when theu informed thst the menu would be similar. For our surprise, the sister restaurant is a steakhouse, with an overpriced menu, totally different from osteria. Was a bit strange to be up-charged on an appetizer and then charged additionally for bread we didn't want/ask for. Only $6 but felt a little cheated on that. The rest of the meal was serviceable.
While the staff is lovely, the meal was less than expected. The lettuce in the wedge salad was a day past fresh and the carpaccio was bland. The lasagna was soupy and lacked flavor and needed more meat and tomato. Overall a disappointment.
We have been here several times for dinner and our previous visits have all been met with great food and service. Unfortunately, the food this time was not good. I ordered the gnocchi and it was clearly frozen out of a box, not made in house or fresh at all. It tasted stale, dry, hard, and very heavy. The sauce was totally bland and lacking any flavor. A bit of a ripoff to be charged for bread. Water and side of pasta with veal parm. Food was very good
It was busy as we were there during restaurant week. It was very warm in the restaurant, that was the only negative thus the 2 stars for ambiance.
The staff was not very friendly. Food was good though
