Expensive with inattentive wait staff.
Visiting from San Francisco area and dined at Panevino based on a friend’s recommendation. Very disappointed in the food! Ordered crab stuffed mushrooms - filling was 90% breading - could not taste the crab. We were not happy so server did not charge us. Ordered a pizza that server recommended. It had prosciutto, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and olives - would have been great but the pizza was quartered and all the prosciutto was on one piece, all the mushrooms on another etc. Never seen a pizza like this and menu did not mak... read more
Someone at the restaurant called me while I was dining inside the restaurant to ask if I was still coming for my reservation. I replied that I had already checked in for my reservation 20 minutes ago and was seated 20 minutes ago. Service was unfriendly. Noise level was unbearable. It was so crowded that people kept bumping into me trying to get past my table. Not a good experience at all.
A tourist trap restaurant. Unbelievably bad food... pizza seemed to be reheated frozen pizza.... it’s not that hard to make pizza.... how can they think this is in any way acceptable? Pasta over cooked and sauce bland.... complete tourist trap .... nowhere near acceptable Italian food.
We order a seafood pasta with a variety of seafood including lobsters, mussels, clams, etc. when the dish arrives, we can both smell that the lobster has gone bad with a nasty smell. I told the waiter about it and he came back and told me that the chef said the lobster was fresh and did not do anything about it. we ended up leaving with the full dish uneaten. Horrible experience!
Got there at 8pm. First night In California. We got very limited service and no bread. Our server disappeared on multiple occasions. Really can’t recommend a place we spent really good money for a meal with no true value. I have never given a bad review.. I hope they fix their issues. I am only here a couple of days.
We have visited Osteria Panevino several times and like to take our out-of-town guests there because it is (normally) a great experience. Not this time. Drinks went unfilled. We had to ask twice for bread and three times for butter. As a party of six, we were spending quite a bit, but I felt like we had to beg for attention and the staff only begrudgingly waited on us. Ordered the Tomahawk steak cooked medium from the daily special menu and it arrived with parts of the steak rare some parts medium and some medium well. Very unbalanced cooking of this steak and for $65 I was not impressed.
Food was terrible, waiter never asked if we had issues
