UPDATE: Loan finally closed. While we had a bad experience, we do understand it could have been a result of the takeover by Guaranteed Rate, and with all the similar reviews from the time period Jan-Apr 2021 this may be only a blip in their overall service. We did get good customer service from Owning before they became Guaranteed Rate, but the transfer to new company was a mess. Hopefully this company has figured out their mistakes, and going forward will be good for clients.

4-26-21 Exactly same experience as others waiting 4-5 months for any answers. Sorry to write negative but it's the only positive outlet we have left.. Rep Henry Vanyan & processor Jaqueline Barragan started well but have ultimately been a horrible experience. Every few weeks would contact them and they would say "hang on" not communicate or hold us off from leaving saying "we're alsost there and will explain...as they are just finishing up". Seriously, go anywhere else! I began my refinance in the middle of January 2021. We signed our paperwork and were told that it would be about 3 days until our refi was funded. I didn't hear anything after a week so I called and left several voicemails for Kim Tran over the course of the next few days. I finally called our first contact at the company and was told that they were now in the process of a merger, but not to worry. UPDATE #3 - I HAVE NEVER HAD A WORSE EXPERIENCE. SOMEONE BUILD ME A TIME MACHINE SO I CAN GO BACK IN TIME AND NOT DO BUSINESS WITH OWNING..... We are STILL in the process of finalizing our refi with Owning (started in January and it's now near the end of April). Updating my review based on my most recent refi and experience with Owning. My first refi with Owning back in early 2020 went smoothly. My second refi with Owning (started in December 2020) has been a complete mess. It's close to 5 months now and I still haven't closed... 5 months!! And my refi is as easy as can be (stable non-self employed job, great LTV ratio, no cash out, etc.) This should have been a straightforward and easy refi. After completing some online information and receiving an initial quote. They never followed up. I am a strong borrower and secured a 2.875% loan that has been funded and cost less than $1,000. These guys are a joke!

My husband and I refinanced with Owning last year. I have been receiving this persistent letter of collection from the Loan Store months back. We paid all the fees, and to our surprise, we are charged again for something we do not have a clue about. Honestly, we do not have a single record of missing a mortgage payment in the past 26 years of owning a property. I tried contacting the agent who facilitated our loan but she left the company. Update. the company reached out and am thankful they checked in. All issues cleared up. Still was a hassle to chase after insurance not being linked over. Another update: just received property tax statement that is suppose to be wrapped into my mortgage and it says I'm delinquent! Wow I'm frustrated. One more thing and the company better cover the delinquent fee of 750!
