We used Pender Pet Retreat this past week for our 19 week old puppy while we were out of town for the day. It was a wonderful experience from the time I called to make the appointment, to his intake and pick up. All the staff were welcoming to us and our puppy. It was obvious when we picked him up that he had had a wonderful experience. We will be using them in the near future for day care as well as boarding so he will have safe pet friendly place to stay when we're busy or traveling.
We have been taking our two huskies and yorkie to Pender in Chantilly for around 5 years now. We are always above and beyond pleased with the friendly staff and understanding doctors. We utilize both the Veterinary services and Pet Retreat. The love for animals in this place is palpable. Strange thing to say about a Vetinary/ Pet Retreat? We have boarded our dogs here for a long time and I have to say I feel very confident with the facility and the caretakers. My dog always comes home happy and mrvet has that "boarding" smell. I would highly recommend them.
My 10-year-old golden loves his spa treatment. Because Goldens have sensitive skin he only goes every couple of months. But he comes back refreshed and beautiful. I trust the people at Pender to take good care of him. He is eager to go and I am eager to get back a clean pup!
We been to others places we are glad we found this place very friendly staff and reasonable price to and dont have worry about your furbabies they are in great hands
For overseas dog transport, they did a fabulous job! Our dog traveled from VA to Europe and Lesley was in contact the entire way and staff at Pender were kind and attentive. The transport is busy during the summer, so getting in touch with Lesley can take an email or two, but not long, she was great at getting back and answering all my concerns, never making me feel rushed. We have two boys, Keiko (pit bull, 6 yrs) and Mars (pit bull mix, 2 yrs) who spent about 7 days at the pet retreat. This was Keiko's second boarding experience but first with Pender Pet. His first experience a few years back at another location was not so great and we've since tried to keep him home with a family friend. Our Sphynx Tyrone spent 14 days at the pet retreat and the entire staff treated him wonderfully! We were able to see him being brought out of his kitty condo and Ty was calm, comfortable, and even happily accepted a smooch from one of the staff members. We called several times throughout his stay and obtained in-depth status reports each time. The discount for being a first timer at the pet retreat was also a plus. I've been bringing my dogs, Rylee and Spencer, here for over five years. I have absolutely zero complaints about the care they receive. Mike is fabulous to deal with-he is always helpful and very pleasant. Since Dr. Hendrickson has joined them, I am even more thrilled. She is excellent and I have complete faith in the care that she provides. I've found all the young staff that work there to be very pleasant as well. I have the dogs groomed there too and the groomer does a great job. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
