Every step of the process was met with ambiguous communication and confusion. To get my refinance moving, I had to be aggressively proactive. I had to acquire direct lines to team members and managers. I had to leave voicemails and send emails multiple times. The first notary didn't show up. No calls from Pennymac or the title company. 2nd time around, the notary was missing paperwork. Had to rush and scramble to get the missing paperwork signed. More direct lines of communication are necessary.
The request for documents and information that had already been sent, and confirmed as having been received, were constant. I was less than confident on any given day that PM had any of the required documents that were necessary to complete the loan process. everyone was extremely pleasant but the flow of data was beyond poor. sorry for the tough words.
The PennyMac team did an outstanding job handling our refinancing and Anastasia D. was especially helpful throughout the process. Their portal was easy to use and the steps were mapped out online so that we could see where our loan was at in the process.
It was very easy very pleasant and very quick. The most painless transaction I’ve ever encountered. There is no other like PennyMac.
Everything was perfect except for a few days in between where I could not get a hold of anyone for about 4 days or so. But everything besides that was perfect.
My loan processor was very inconsistent in his communication. He requested same docs more than once. He will communicate something over the phone and provide something different. Closing amount had to be changed at least 4 times. No one showed up for my first scheduled closing date. I waiting outside at a starbucks in the cold for hours. Took about a week to reschedule closing, no good explanation provided. Was not told i needed to wire closing funds, notary could not accept check over $1500
My questions were promptly answered. I had a particular document due from me and started to give up on the loan but due to constant communication, I was able to get the document and complete the application process.
