The closing attorney needs to be informed that they must wear a mask when going to meet with clients to close. We were also a little thrown off by the amount due at closing which should have been outlined and detailed before. Overall it was a pretty smooth experience.
I've had a lot of mortgages, but Penny Mac has been my favorite loan servicer. They are always quick to respond concisely and clearly.

The first person I dealt with, Gary Darden, was wonderful. In fact, I would email throughout the whole process to get answers I needed. He’s the only person at Penn MAC that I could to return any email to me. Joseph Kreleis wouldn’t return an email or answer any questions at all. Ever. So I would give Mr Darden a 10 and Me Kreleis 0 on a rating scale.
Deion was great. He got back to me in a timely manner whenever I had a question. Thank you Deion!
Loan process with PennyMac was simple and accurate. Communication throughout the process were appreciated and timely. I would highly recommend evaluating and moving your mortgage to the PennyMac team.
Our realtor called 53 times in one day because we did not have the paperwork we needed to close and no communication was given. This was the most stressful experience ever. We did not close on our expected date. Our appraisal was late. Everything was awful. The day we did close no one knew if it was definitely a go because the title company had not received anything until that day.
Blen Alemu was a delight to work with. Not only did she exceed all expectations for professionalism, her trustworthy and friendly demeanor made the entire process a joy. Closing on home financing is not usually a fun experience, but Blen made it a very pleasurable experience.
