Sarah Guevara really saved the day. She was handed my overdue file from someone who no longer works with Penny Mac. Within days she had everything figured out and we closed. She was exceptional but experience prior to her was very poor
The wait times for a phone conversation could be shorter. I waited over an hour to speak with a loan agent to start my application. At the end of the hour the phone disconnected. Luckily an agent called me back two hours later to discuss my application.
Honestly, no. Just, no. I worked with about a dozen people. One manager (the loan had to be elevated to a manager because of gross incompetence) was very good and helpful and attempted to understand what needed to happen, but once he handed the loan to the next group, train wreck again. Nearly everything else was a complete train wreck. Total disaster. I will encourage everyone I meet to save themselves the headache and go with a different company.

It was a seamless process that required no appraisal (because I was a prior client of Penny Mac who was refinancing an existing Penny Mac loan). It happened exactly as expected: they matched a prior quote from another lender, and then were even able to beat that quote with closing costs, etc.

The staff was helpful and polite when it came to answering my questions. It was fast and easy to refinanced my loan with a lower interest rate. Regarding my mortgage, I saved $650 a month. I’ll stay w/ Pennymac because of their excellent service.
Give John a raise!!!! He was awesome. Turned a bad experience into a phenomenal experience And save me a ton of money.
