I had a great experience with Pennymac. I felt very comfortable with the way Team handled our paper work and the refinance amounts that was quoted.
1. A number of emails went unanswered. 2. PennyMac's choice of title company arrived with incorrect documents. This delayed the close. Because of PennyMac's error, we incurred additional, albeit minor, additional costs. When I asked Zach why we had to pay, I got the scripted apology delivered in a monotone. 3
When our loan was approved, we received an email. The next step was to get a notary scheduled. Nick called us about 5 days after the approval email and left a conflicting message that our loan was still going into approval. I called PennyMac and the agent confirmed it was approved and contacted Nick. Nick shared there was an amount we needed to have ready in a cashiers check. I left quarantine to have that check cut. Notary came with a conflicting amount - $0. I had to cancel the cashier chec
From day one I was explained the process and it all went as they said, we closed before time allotted. It was easy to get ahold of team members for any questions or concerns I had.
5 Stars. Penny Mac helped us secure a much lower interest rate than our previous mortgage and this is by far the smoothest refinance I have ever done. Working with Jesse Ramon was a pleasure. His level of communication and assistance far exceeded my expectations. I did have a few issues with the portal. Jesse would request certain documents and when I uploaded them to the portal it was difficult to confirm they were received. Not a huge problem and I would do it again without hesitation.
I was verbally told interest would freeze for two months during a refi, then over contract shown it wouldn't. I was given a 0900 refi signing appointment but no one showed and got a call at 1015 that someone I never heard of would be coming to my house to sign the docs. I had to go through a whole refi process for a changed interest rate when pennymac should be able to handle that infernally. Pennymac also couldn't have their estimators talk with their assistance team during one call session.

PennyMac Team made my Year, working so hard to complete the entire process. You encouraged me so much, trying when I did know if is was going to happen.
