The staff through out the loan process were very friendly which made it an enjoyable experience.
At the beginning of the refi- that was initiated by PennyMac we were told that there would be no additional funds added to the loan. Day of closing that proved incorrect. $3,000 was added to the payoff amount. We signed bc we were told we could resend for 3 days. WE DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK WITH THOSE THREE DAYS. Therefore we now get to pay an additional $3000 on top of what we already owed. Sorry but that is how our experience went.

The process was confusing being handed off to different people. Being asked for the same documents by different people, the portal not keeping updated on progress, overall cumbersome and time consuming. At one point we discussed stopping the process and going to a local bank.
