Overall, the loan process is great from application to closing, PennyMac will guide you through. The initial application was very fast and timely, however I feel that the loan review took very long time, I have not received any update for almost a month after submitting all the required documents, not until I followed up, that's the only time my loan gets traction again and took almost another month to close. There were also confusions with the title company and the closing cost calculations.
Barbara was great however it seems too many people did different parts of the loans. I had to submit documents when i was told by Juan that I wouldn’t have to. I was given a closing document by Barbara and then check my email the next day to find out a different one was sent by someone else that had me paying over $2,000 for closing. Then Barbara had to rush to get stuff fixed so we could close in time. She got it taken care of but it seemed like she went thru unnecessary hoops.
Respond to questions in a timely manner. Phone calls should be returned within one day, two at the latest if nothing more than to say I received your message and I am working on it.
Overall I loved the service.
From the beginning my experience was excellent. Great customer service, & friendly people. I felt NO stress going thru the process. I’m very happy with the numbers as well!
My original mortgage loan was with penny mac. I spent months trying to get in contact with someone about a streamline re-finance. I received zero follow-up after multiple voicemails and e-mail inquires I finally got in touch with someone who wanted to help me. I cant stress enough how frustrating this was. When the process finally got started I think it went pretty well, Barbara Fernandez was very professional and did a great job.
Communication was horrible! I regretted refinancing halfway through calls were unanswered, agent would say to expect a call from them but would never call, agent would say they get assistance with answering questions but never follow up. Horrible communication made the process soooo stressful!!!
1. Communication. Pennymac seriously lacked communication. There was a 3 week period where I did not hear from my loan officer or loan processor regarding my closing disclosures. 2. Pennymac missed 2 of my closing dates. 3. Incorrect closing disclosures multiple times
It was exactly what i wanted and expected and more.. every email was answered quick and if there was a mistake it was fixed fast! Would definitely recommend and won’t be going anywhere else!
