Excellent birthday date night. I put a note in my reservation asking to get a quiet booth if possible. We showed up 20 minutes late, they still accommodated us with a booth, AND provided a complimentary dessert of our choice. Our server was attentive and personable but never hovered. I had not been to this restaurant in a long time. What I liked is what I remembered about it. With the push for healthy eating, good comfort food is hard to find. Phoenix City Grille is one of the best and last oases for comfort food in Central Phoenix. The small plates/appetizers are unique and many are enough to be a meal by themselves. We always love the food and consistent service here. It's a great place to bring out of town guests. Feels old school cool but updated in current and diverse menu items and drinks. DELISH!!

Not very crowded changes there vibe. Disappointed on presentation of famous corn cakes.. topping was just dry chicken cubes.. I preferred old way with chicken in sauce between two cakes. The shrimp in bacon was burnt and had to be sent back. Still dry and poorly cooked.
