POLARIS 280 POOL SWEEP I have had 4 Polaris pool sweeps over 25 years. I run them a lot. This is the most effective one yet. It has fewer parts and a larger collection bag and throat than my previous 380 which was very reliable. In short, it is the most cost effective and should also be the most reliable, least maintenance sweep that Polaris makes currently. Also, Amazon was a great deal on it compared to other stores on or off-line.
Great pool vac Once I got the line adjusted to fit my pool, the vac worked wonders. You do have to make a few adjustments out of the box, nothing difficult. Just follow instructions. It goes from end to end and practically climbs the walls straight out of the pool. My pool is cleaner than it has been all summer. great Faster than what came with pool. Construction should make it outlast higher numbered models (I HOPE). Was only getting three years out of the 380.
Polaris 280 This was a replacement for my old polaris that had just bitten the dust. Shippping was extremely fast and the product was just as I expected. Instructions on set up were easy and the price was actually cheaper than I paid for the old one 12 years ago. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.
Solid performer The sweeper replaces the earlier model, circa 1995. The older Polaris gave up the ghost, so to speak. It still worked, but barely and replacing the worn parts was not smart, considering the great deal available on Amazon. Open the box, cut the hoses per easy directions, 3-4 minute to assemble, insert into pressurized supply in pool (needs its own separate line & pump) and off it went to work. polaris pool cleaner I just love my new polaris pool cleaner. I had been resistant to buying one mainly because the price was outrageous, but after about 5 attempts at keeping the pool algae free, i decided to spring for one. luckily i found it at this website cheaper than any where else, so i got it. the pool has never been cleaner i didnt have to make any adjustments to the hose or anything. It works great.
Much better deal than Leslies This was much cheaper on Amazon than at Leslies. I was worried about buying on Amazon because I didn't think I would be able to put it together. After a couple weeks of rain that kept my pool guy away, I decided to open the box myself and try to assemble it. To my delight, it was already pretty much assembled! Just fired my pool people I had two 380s; one lasted four years, the second one five years. I probably could have refitted the second one to get few additional years of service out of it. After reviewing the part prices and considering the amount of work I would have to put in, I decided to go for the 280. It turned out to be a great decision.
