Not Designed for L Shaped Pools First, let me say this seems to be the highest recommended cleaner out there and that's why I bought it. I am not sure any other cleaner would be any better, they all seem to have some issues. The first couple times I used this product, it was extremely impressive and seemed to do a great job. Polaris 280 pool cleaner Received it very quickly. It is a very effective cleaner and works fast to clean up debris in pool...especially after a recent rain storm (even picks up sand/dirt that washes into pool from my flagstone) and all the leaves. I was concerned about it only covering bottom, as I used to have a Hayward Phantom that covered surface and bottom. Polaris 280 Loved the price of this new polaris. We have been using it for several weeks and it works great. Also, the product came when the vendor said it would come. All in all a very good experience.
First time customer I have always used Hayward pool cleaners, Hayward quit making the cleaner I had been using. so I asked around and everyone said the Polaris 280 had always been a great cleaner for them. I priced around and found the 280 to be quite expensive untill i checked with Amazon. the price was so much lower than every one i was suspicious that something would be missing when it arived. but my suspicions was rong. everything came with it and within 3 days. I am very pleased with the Polaris and Amazom.com
Great customer experience from Polaris I have owned Polaris cleaners for about 15 years now. My last one was the 380. The 380 did a better job cleaning the sides and steps, but it seemed to always be in the shop. I still have it and can do a rebuild on it and it will work fine. I tried the 280 which I purchased a year ago. It is a hard worker, but not as good a cleaner of the walls and steps as the 380. Great pool cleaner I purchased the Polaris 280 to replace a 15 year old, ailing, Letro unit. The Polaris definitely does a much better job. The price was good and fast shipping made the deal very nice. The only downside is that the hose sent with the unit was a bit short for my pool requiring the purchase of another section of hose and a few fittings. I do recommend this cleaner

Better value then the 380 This is my second Polaris pool cleaner. My first model was the 380 which is very similar. It is still working, but the plastic became brittle over the years and a couple pieces cracked so I decided to replace it before it broke totally. After reading reviews of both the 280 and 380, they seemed to be quite similar with the 280 being slightly more reliable due to fewer parts. There are really few differences in the two models.
