Great cleaner but wheels continually break off We've had this cleaner for almost a year in our 16X32 vinyl lined pool. The cleaner does a great job, however this is the fourth time that one of the wheel axles has broken. Although it's still under warranty, I have returned it to the pool installer and asked them to check it out. I have replace the wheels three times already and the poor design on having a plastic axle is frustrating.
Pool Cleaner The Polaris 280 is a Great pool cleaner. Our first one lasted 12 years. We hope to get at least 12 years out of this one too. The seller is the Great. Best buying experience on Amazon. Shippment was tracked and arrived ahead of schedule. Will continue to buy from this seller in the future.
Polaris replacement Sweep I bought this to replace a pool sweep that was no longer manufactured. I have used it for one month and it has done an excellent job. The hose got twisted at first until I trimmed it to the correct length. Now it works great. Shipping was prompted from Amazon and the price was much better than I could have bought it locally.
Hard worker Just bought a house with a pool. The pool needed work and was missing some equipment. We read many reviews before we purchased this item. I used to have to watch my poor husband work on the pool in 100 degree weather after a long day at the office. Now the Polaris does it all. It is the hardest working member of the family :)
The Best Value In Automatic Pool Cleaners You could spend more for a sporty model. You can even get one with "4-wheel" drive! But dollar-for-dollar, you will not find a better value than the Polaris 280. I had the sucky kind of Hayward automatic pool vacuum but all it did was make my filter more dirty from everything it picked up from the bottom. Great Cleaner - Second Time Arong When our pool was installed, we had this pool cleaner installed and it lasted 7 years in a salt system. After reading reviews of all cleaners, we decided to purchase the Polaris 280, again. It is as efficient as the first one, but with new improvements that increase its cleaning capabilities and makes maintenance much easier. Works but needed repairs We moved to a house with a pool that had an old polaris 360. I had to replace a drive belt, and the cover busted. So we decided to replace it. We were not thrilled about having to pay 700+$ for a new one. We were thrilled when we found this one. It came when expected and with no visual damage. Excellent cleaner I replaced my 12 year old Polaris 280 with this new one and I am impressed with the improved performance. It was easy to hook up and it has a much better cleaning ability than the old one.
AMAZING, Better than Kreepy Krawler!! I must say that this thing does a fantastic job for what it is. I replaced my old Kreepy Krawler, and it's easily 10 times better. It does have a hard time getting the steps to get into the pool, but that's really not a big deal. I did have soem problems early on with the hose getting tangled up, but it turned out to be my fault for not tying the hose on tight enough.
