Works great, better than my previous Hayward Viper My Hayward Viper (purchased in 2004) died again. Due to increasing difficulty in finding and cost of parts for the Viper, I decided to go ahead and replace it. While it seems every automatic pool cleaner has good and bad reviews, it seems the Polaris 280 had more consistent positive reviews. Amazing pool cleaner Very happy with the purchase. Polaris 280 works very well. Little disappointed initially as i got a damaged item. But Amazon promptly exchanged the item for a new one within 4 days. we replaced our old Polaris 480 with Polaris 280.Couldn't ask for anything more. It keeps my pool sparkling clean.
Perfect Replacement I am very satisfied with the 280. I had an old Polaris 180 that was about 10 years old. Over the past year and a half I had it repaired 3 times. The place I had it repaired suggested I replace it if it needs to be repaired again. Well a few weeks ago it sat on the bottom of my pool not moving around. Great choice on our Polaris 280 We had a gunite pool put in 3 years ago and had everything Hayward (2 Pumps, filter system, and a turbo phantom pool cleaner). I paid over $1,000 for that Hayward Phantom and had to replace the gears in 1 1/2 years, then again 6 months ago, but the housing is all broke up and now the Phantom cleans about 1/4 of the pool, fustrated. polaris I purchased the polaris 280 FS two months ago and all we had to do was attach it to the pool wall. It was worth every penny as it cleans so much better than our old one and I was hesitant to try this one. I highly recommend this product. There was nothing to put together or hoses to cut. It works perfectly.

Great product than imagined I replaced the old Polaris that came with the house I moved to last summer. The old one had loose tires and did not go around so much. And had some broken parts. At that time I had a negative impression about Polaris. According to the pool shop, I replaced it to the new one and have come to know that it is really a great product. Installation took a little more than an hour because I needed to cut one section (10 feet) of the hose and re-attach the hose to fit my pool. Other than that, installation was a breeze.
