This is a lovely care home. Not only did the staff care well for mum at a difficult time for the family, they also looked after and supported us. Staff were friendly and welcoming from the start. They kept us fully informed during mum's stay and they involved us in decision making. Mum stayed in a lovely bright room that led onto the garden. She told us that the staff were kind and that she loved the manicures and massages she was given. Oh, and the homemade brownies are delicious!

Our Beauty Therapist facials and massages are truly amazing, staff have experienced the treatments themselves in our staff wellbeing day we hold twice a year and as for the Brownies I have to agree they are delicious!
Staff are so hard working and friendly. They would do anything for you! The whole building is very clean. You can see that everyone is well looked after. The food is lovely and you can tell it is fresh!

Toni has had to visit the hospital recently a few times, the staff have been excellent and helpful. Obviously the food is always first class, with lots of choices and always presented well. The manager runs a tight ship and is a very caring person.

Visited old neighbour for lunch on 2nd May. Cannot speak too highly of the ambience of the home. The staff and food were excellent and very helpful. For anyone looking for a residential home, Portobello Place most certainly is worth a visit.

Visited resident as guest for lunch in private dining room. Staff very polite and attentive. Food was excellent (3-course meal) with drinks. Staff very well trained. Lovely to visit residents in such lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Could not fault experience.

Mum resided at Portobello Place for 4 and a half years. During this time she felt part of the "family" with wonderful care and loving attention from the staff. She was treated with kindness and respect, which was important for someone who still had a good degree of independence. Mum loved the events, particularly the singers, speakers, dancers and musicians, which really lifted her spirits and she fully took part!

I had visited 5 care homes for my client. I was very impressed with the decor of Portobello Place. The management and admin staff are extremely professional and very welcoming each time I visit my client. The carers and staff are lovely and very caring. My client has settled in so well, he made the decision to remain permanent. The change in him is incredible.

I would describe Portobello Place as an excellent care home. It has comfy spacious bedrooms, lovely dining room and beautiful open spaces for entertainment and socialising. The staff are caring and attentive. They care for each individual, meeting their needs and encouraging and facilitating them to be the best they can be. Our own experience is that my aunt was in poor health when she arrived 1 year ago, needing 2 carers and maximum help. She is now walking and taking part in many of the activities.
