I cannot stand that I have extra tape at the beginning, I can't get it to not do that no matter what I do! It can be a serious waste of tape :( I've learned how to work around it, so its not that big of a deal anymore. Let me help you in advance, pick another product! It's just not that great. The labels are thin. The machine eats the tape. I guess reviews are better than they should because it's a brother, and it SHOULD do better. But... It doesn't.
Eats batteries?? Received as a gift from my wish list. Screen was scuffed right out of the box. It takes a whopping 6 AAA batteries if you don't have the AC power adapter (sold separately). I tried two different sets of Duracells and couldn't even print a single label before it said "Battery Empty!" So now I'm going to the store for a different bran battery. Stopped working properly after first use This label maker worked just fine the first time I used it, which was the day I received it. The instructions are pretty straightforward, and I like the different font options. It's pretty basic, but that's all I really needed for some home organizing. However, after the first use, I turned it off, put it away, and then a few months later took it out to use again but it would not work properly. Would be a great product, but this flaw makes it much more ... It intentionally wastes the label. It prints way more than it needs, even if you set the margins to "narrow", so you often have to cut it down to size. Would be a great product, but this flaw makes it much more expensive than it should be.
Do not buy this I purchased this and I put new batteries it never worked, it was showing batteries low.. and I don't recommend it.
