Five Stars Just what I wanted
Good printer hardware, terrible software This is my second Brother labeler (I have the 2430 also). The printer hardware and its cartridge system are of good quality, and easy to use. The software and drivers Brother supplies have been consistently poor for both devices. For the most part, I'm using the devices to print labels for electronics parts bins, and need the printed tape to be a particular size. The feature where the font size will autoscale depending on the length of the description of the part is critical for my ap... read more
Very versatile This is more versatile than a hand-held label maker. It prints very quickly. You can set the precise lenth of the label to make if fit your project. You can print up on to 24mm wide tapes or as narrow as 3.5mm. You can also store labels so you can reprint without remaking them each time. The editing sofware gives you loads of options, including all the fonts on your computer, printing bar codes, and printing information from an Excel spreadsheet (PC only). The color unfortunately, comes from the tape, not the ... read more
Mac OS 10.9 Users If you have trouble with the driver hold down Plite Button This is a great machine that I use with my database for labels and barcodes. Mac OS 10.9 Users If you have trouble with the driver hold down the Plite button wait till it turns off then it will show up in your printers. I spent hours trying to figure this out and nothing on the brother website has this info.
Does exactly what I expected. Love this thing. This is an awesome device and it does exactly what I want to do. I have been using this for a couple of months now and it has been 100% reliable for me. I own one of the key touch labelers that is a standalone unit and it is nice, but it is especially nice to have one connected to my PC. It is much, much faster for me this way as long as I am doing my printing right here. When I need to make labels elsewhere, then I use my standalone P touch printer. I love this product. It is v... read more
Very Handy But Limited I wanted a basic computer-capable label maker and the reviews for this one were generally good. As was the price. Because I use it with a work computer, I cannot download the software. So I'm limited to what can be done with the label maker's internal software. Fortunately, that is quite good. It has a variety of fonts and clear, crisp printing. It's very quick and easy to make a lable. The largest size tape it will take is 1" so I sometimes have to break up an address or other label into two parts. I ... read more
Label Maker Using this for our Church. Works great, looks good and labels stick to all surfaces so far. Very convienient hooking it up to our PC to print. Very easy and quick to make a lot of labels. The only con we have is that it seems to waste a lot of tape.
Nice Label Printer easy install as PNP with Windows 7. no software needs to install. But the print out is not 1", I use this for QR code, due to the output is not 1", my QR reader is a bit difficult to read. overall is good.
very good label maker, cheap ,compact, solid Pro: compact, easy for use, well made, very cost-effective, can connect to PC,can use any system font like Chinese font, can print bar code, automatic cutting. Con: very expensive color tape, only 24mm width MAX, if 36mm tape will be better, only 180 dpi output, mono color no grey level other thought: compatible tape can be use, and the price is acceptable, but the effect is not good as original.
