Works in a pinch Not the Brother quality I am used to.
Doesn't work with Mac Could not install software. I tried for over 2 hours with no results. I'm going to send it back.
Nightmare install Do not buy this product. It is very difficult to install the printer driver needed to run the product. In these days of plug and play, don't waste your time with this.
Won't use your old Brother TZ tape cartridges Bought this to replace my Brother PT-2430 PC, which uses "TZ" tapes. It's more-or-less the equivalent but—surprise!—it won't take the "TZ" cartridge. It has to be the new "TZe" cartridge, which Brother claims is more "environmentally friendly." The TZe tape is exactly the same, and the TZe cartridge is almost exactly the same, except for some subtle new features that the old TZ cartridge doesn't have, and these prevent the TZ cartridge from fitting into this printer. It won't work with the M1 Macbook Pro with macOS 11. It won't work with the M1 Macbook Pro with macOS 11. I've contacted customer service. They offer conflicting information. One person said it's not compatible, please ask Apple's customer service for drivers...... The other person said it should work but I just tried so many different troubleshooting methods and it just doesn't work at all. I returned the product in the end ......
Purposely built to waste tape- explained Open the back, see how far the cassette is from the edge of the device, see how the cutter cuts from the bottom, the furthest from the edge, not the top the closest to the edge which would SAVE tape. I have the OLD blue and green unit and it didn't do this. GEE, are we to believe the technology has gone backwards? Nah. This is called "Value engineering" so they can extract $$ from users.
Wasteful with Labels Dislike: The printer wastes too much label. Every time you would print, an inch label would be cut. Wasteful. Brother should look into this.
This printer wastes quite a bit of tape My old brother p-touch died so I decided to buy this as a replacement. But this printer has a design "flaw" that makes it so that it will waste 1/2in of tape at the front and rear of all prints. Obviously it is not a flaw, but rather just a marketing method of wasting expensive tape so that you can buy more. My old p-touch only wasted about 1/4in of tape at the front and rear of all prints, this printer takes it to the next level. Pretty craptacular design.
Vrai petie merveille Le logiciel est extraordinaire puisqu'il permet d'importer des images, des logos, des textes ou d'autre étiquettes déjà préparés dans le Office Word. Il suffit seulement de les redimensionner ou de les étirer dans n'importe quel sens. Ensuite il reste à ajuster la longueur du ruban avant/arrière et imprimer. Le P700 se charge de couper le ruban avant/arrière au millimètre près .
