Great label printer for a Mac Printer works flawlessly and has the most customizable options I have seen on any label printer. For those of you having issues with connectivity errors make sure you install the actual software/drivers and don't use the built it software. The only con with the printer is the 1 inch square it has to cut every time you start a new print due to the gap between the printer head and the cutter. Hopefully brother will correct this with a future model.
A label maker connected to the PC is the way to go I've owned several label makers in the past and they all came with a built in keyboard and screen for typing out the labels. It works, but it is clunky and you can't really see what you're going to get until you print it. The PT-P700 solves that problem by moving the editor on to your computer. Once you install the printer driver and the software editor you can either design your own labels or use one of the many built-in templates. Also, you can see what the label will look... read more
Gives you more control over font choice than my PT1290 I have owned the Brother PT1290 Home and Office Labeler for a few years and found it to be 4-stars for an entry level label maker so I was curious how this would compare. The biggest difference is that this labeler requires a computer while the other does not. Like the PT1290 this label maker is extremely simple to use, You simply connect to your computer with the included USB cable and the software is built in so there is nothing to download. Unlike the PT1290 you're ma... read more
Great bargain and superb feature set I have owned PT Touch products from the very beginning model the PT-PC It is still working. I also own the high end PT-9600. Really nice product. I have further owned many Brother products and they offer great value and remarkable reliability. This is a desktop unit which must have a PC to operate it. It has the software built into the product and was easy to install. The software offers so many features that it is best to go onto the Brother site. It can run on batteries to cut down on c... read more
Perfect I LOVE labeling things. (And handwritten labels just don't cut it for me.) I was printing paper labels from my PC, covering them with tape and labeling things that way...and then this machine arrived. This is perfect. It was simple to set up, worked right away, has enough options even in the Lite software that loads automatically to handle 99.9% of most people's label needs. (Even with the Lite software you can add photos to your label.) There are a ton of fonts (seem to be all the ones I work with in Word) - which i... read more
A very nice labeler I have at least a half-dozen Brother P-touch label machiens laying around here. I always intend to use them religiously so that everything, especially cables, is clearly labelled so I'm not quickly reduced to vulgarisms every time I need to find something quickly. I've had one of their computer connected labelers before - and it didn't stay connected for long. To much bother. The PT-P700 has a fighting chance of being used more than the others. It's a nicely designed unit, if somewhat large: 3.1 x 6.0 x 5... read more
Now works with OS X 10.9 Works with OS X 10.9 but there's no instructions. Had to play with the drivers and the labeler for some time before I was able to get it running. That's why I only gave it 3-stars. When I originally reported this unit didn't have an OS x 10.9 driver I may have overlooked the listing it in the Brother support downloads web site. Just checked again today and found it. Manuals listed under the OS x 10.9 are the same as what was shipped in the box - which, at the time of printing, didn't support OS X 1.9... read more
Will not work with latest version of MAC OS "We don't have plans to release official drivers or software for your model on macOS 13. - For printing, you may be able to use the macOS 10.15 driver, if available for download for your model." OK. I suppose this one on me for assuming the device maker would keep drivers updated for new MAC OS.
