I was out of town, and my 93 year old father in law called to tell me that our furnace was out. My usual HVAC man was indisposed, so since it was a Carrier furnace, I called this company to come and check it out. I was informed by Anthony that the inducer motor had seized, and its failure had caused a furnace shutdown. He then suggested that I buy an entirely new furnace from them, and the cost would be $4K to $6K for a 60,000 BTU unit. He said the motors were hard to obtain on a 22 year old furnace. I arrived home 3 day... read more

Business response:

Hello Thomas. We offer repair services on most makes and models of equipment, however, we are not a supply house and have a very limited supply of parts on hand. For replacement parts we are dependent on our factory suppliers and with some equipment, like your 23-year-old furnace, those suppliers may inform us that they are no longer available from them. While parts may be obtained through online third parties, we do not have the knowledge of their origin, they do not have a factory warranty and we are unable to guarantee... read more

bait & switch. I took their bid and paid a large deposit months ago. didn't mind waiting for my new air conditioner. We took Monday off for the install but Friday night, 10 minutes before they close some guy (Mark) calls and leaves a message that they cannot give me the brand name unit I ordered but some odd brand. we tried to call back, but they are closed. Now I will have to get all new bids and see if they will refund my money (they really need to) and I will have to schedule and wait for a different company to provide a... read more

BRAND NEW furnace installed this Spring already not working. Coldest weekend of the year, and NO RESPONSE from PH&A for after hours. i called during the day on Friday and got blown off until TUESDAY for repair service. Their "internet representatives" utterly useless. Astonishing how they continue to be employed. 22* last night and still have no heat. Did I mention this is a BRAND NEW unit, installed 6 months ago and only in use for a month. Way to nail customer service.

Repair requested was to reconnect two heating ducts that had fallen away from the floor registers on opposite sides of the house, and to perform a "service" on our gas-forced air furnace. The previous required access through the crawl space under our home. The tech was not interested in viewing the furnace inside the home so as to more quickly understand the physical layout of the system. Next, the tech was afraid to access the crawl space. He then left, suggesting we use a different company. My best assessment? Afraid to ge... read more

We signed in February, we were told installation by July. The only thing true...no installation by July, we were told there was no heat pump available still. We bought because we like Shane, the sales consultant. He had no control over a heat pump getting to us...in fact I finally realized, if he can't find a heat pump how in the world can we count on them for maintenance. I recommend any company hire this man, he is why we bought Puyallup heating and air. They have no product!

Business response:

Hi Chris. We appreciate your feedback and take it very seriously. We apologize for the delay of your heat pump. A number of the suppliers and manufacturers have experienced major supply chain issues since COVID and they are still coping with them. We would like to speak with you more, but we need more information to make sure we can find your account and job. Please DM us your full name, addresss, and phone so we can find you in our system. Otherwise, if you prefer to reach out by phone, please call our office and ask for Ja... read more

I made an appointment over a week ago to have someone come out and do a service. I was told it would be between 12 and 2. At 2:03 or so I received a text that the tech was on his way. I called the office and asked why I wasn't told before he was late, that he would be. I got a thousand and one excuses but none of that matters. Do as you say and say as you do. If anything, it may have given him more time to do the job he was working on. It angers me that people have lost the ability to have common courtesy. So, one star is go... read more

Business response:

I bought a mini-split ductless heater 4 years ago from Puyallup Heating. In the last week of December we had snow and the heater stopped working. The unit was still under warranty. They stated they couldn't come look at it until the end of the week, 4 days later. Once they were out they charged me $163.90 to tell me they couldn't fix it or even look at it until the snow had melted. So, even though the unit was installed by them and under warranty I was refused repair of a necessary heater until later. I had to call several t... read more

I have been doing business with Puyallup Heating for over 20 years and I have never had any reason to question their service or integrity. I have had them install 2 furnaces as well as several repairs at my home and commercial building. Last week my Carrier gas furnace that they had installed about 9 years ago was making some strange noises and it was fairly apparent that the draft inducer motor had failed. Before calling them I looked online at what the motor costs to get a rough idea what the total bill was going to be. ... read more
