The medical team has been A-1. Dr. Vega really understand women's needs. She listens to everything and is always ready to offer a solution. She will advocate for you and make sure you know what your options are. I appreciate her no-nonsense style and sense of humor. She has been one of the best doctors and made this process that much easier by taking her time and explaining everything to me in a way that I understand.
Nurse Mikela is super quick and prepares everything in advance. She keeps things really organized and structured during med pass. I also like that she refuses to gossip and always stays professional. She is nice and polite and meets everyone's needs. Thank you!!
Tarjay is my favorite TA because she genuinely cares about the clients. She takes her time to ask you what you need and can successfully read your energy. She has an upbeat attitude every time I see her and always checks in to lift your spirits. I am so thankful for everything she does for me in my recovery on a daily basis.
ray the family therapist has been extremely personable throughout my stay. He explains things to me in an acceptable way to help me understand. He is very intelligent and always takes the clients side. He makes himself available for you and can always be counted on to handle things with the utmost honesty. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend taking advantage of the family program and family sessions at River Oaks.
My case manager Veronica has been lovely. She is always efficient and easy to work with. I admire her courtesy and her work ethic in getting me coordinated with my after care services including my sober living and IOP. I think working with her has truly set me up for success and Im extremely grateful for her professionalism.
Nurse Culvern is great in detox. He never complains and goes tha extra mile. We all like when he's on shift because he's not just a basic nurse, he's an awesome one!!
Miss Glenda in the kitchen is very friendly and she loves her job. She is always willing to serve us and will go into the back of the kitchen to ask questions and make things happen to ensure we have what we need. She goes above and beyond and we appreciate her for that!
The group facilitators and therapists are extremely personable and understanding. The counselor Cristina always listens and makes her groups fun and interesting. A lot of groups I have been to really suck, but hers don't suck because they are fun! I like the topics she includes in her lesson plans and she switches up the conversation to keep it engaging and always relevant. Thank you to the awesome facilitators!
We are loving that the CEO Jeff is coming around in the mornings with the candy and snack cart. It helps the clients who are not feeling well from detox to get some sugar and the ones who may not be able to go to the candy store to have something for themselves. I like that they have peer led AA and NA meetings on the weekend and recovery meetings throughout the week.
