TA Kita knows exactly what to do in an emergency , she is always responsive and advocates for us as clients. She is so supportive and always in a good mood. We can count on her to speak up and tell us what we need to hear because she has tough love and boundaries. She is a great part of the community at River Oaks and has made my stay here much more meaningful just by the way that she expresses how much she cares for us.
Most of the staff and case managers go above and beyond their job descriptions to be extra kind and attentive. When I moved dorms to the residential building, Tarshae helped me get some of my stuff back that I had left in my previous room. She always stops to talk to me and make sure that Im doing ok while offering some good advice in the process. I can always go to her if Im having a bad day and she will look out for me and remind me of why Im here and why I need to go to group and get the tools that I came for.
My counselor Ray has helped me a lot with exploring my issues with co-dependency. he is the family counselor and I love that he has a good sense of humor about everything. He has a great memory and always knows what's going on with my situation. he is always in a good mood which makes it very easy to talk to him and open up about the things that Im going through. He's been helping me with getting extra sessions in with my family members because he is just awesome like that!
When I came in they had to do a bunch of labs and blood draws which freaked me out because I was still detoxing and no one can ever find my veins. The lab tech Maurice was so quick and good at his job, he kept is very professional and was very caring throughout the process which made it a lot easier and quick and painless. One less thing I had to worry about. Maurice is awesome and amazing at his job. He always talks to me in the hallways and never has a poor attitude, he just always has a smile on his face.
I have had a positive experience throughout my time attending groups and having sessions with my therapist. The staff is very friendly, caring, and fast. The nurses on my dorm like Nurse Frankie are total overachievers. They are always doing the most and going out of their wat to make things better and faster. They all know my name and I never have to wait in long lines when Nurse Frankie is around. He definitely knows what he is doing and can keep the dorm calm in a bind.
Nurse Mark has been amazing all the way, since the first day I got here he has been so fast during med pass and has such a good memory. he never forgets to follow up and we want him to stay in building 7 all the time!! He is super professional and will make sure we have everything we need. Its great to know I can rely on someone to be consistent and kind. The medical staff here have been exactly that, especially Nurse Mark!
Rosie the house keeper is the best! She always compliments the clean rooms and treats us like family. She takes her time cleaning and has a very sweet personality. She deeps cleans the rooms and is always very supportive and personal. Its great to have people that you feel like can understand you. That makes all the difference.
Nurse Heather has helped me every step of the way. She is kind and explains things to you to help you understand, like with medications and stuff like that. She helped find a clients cane that he needed to walk when he had lost it. She just has a great personality and I know I can always talk to her. I'm thankful for nurses like Heather.
So far the groups have been nice and the nurses are decent in helping with meds and getting through detox. I like that they have cleaning service to do laundry and make beds every day. Isabella the cleaning lady is the nicest. Even though she doesn't speak a lot of english she shows that she is very caring by taking her time and going out of her way to make sure I have everything I need.
