I have never seen a more committed and dedicated staff member than Jennifer the TA. She is so inspirational with all the advice she shares. She truly listens and goes out of her way to help. She has a very soft demeanor about her and is just over all a good person who cares about her job and helping people. We want her to be recognized!
They have family days here which was nice to be able to visit with my family. The family program facilitator and therapist Ray is so great. He has a comforting personality and is very knowledgeable about all the family dynamics and codependancy that takes place in the families of addicts. He did family sessions with me and my parents which helped me figure out a lot of stuff about my relationships that I can take home with me to start fresh and keep learning how to get better. I like that the therapists are so upbeat. They are always available and supportive. I like that my therapist Karah is so nonjudgemental. I could literally tell her anything and she will not judge me and be understanding of what Im going through. She has an outgoing personality and can point me in the right direction. I respect her advice and what she has to say, I look forward to her groups every day and I can see that she has helped a lot of people even if they are not on her case load because of the way she does her groups... read more
I love that I can always ask the staff for advice whether its my counselor case manager of the TA's. One of the people I trust the most with my situation is Tarshay because she is so motivational and caring. She always gives me positive feedback and encourages me to do better. Its been hard opening up and learning how to trust people with my issues, but between her and my counselor, I have been able to learn how to let people in and get some help with some of my situations.
Carol is one of the new techs and is already doing an amazing job. She is very hardworking and super relatable. She treats everyone with respect and equally. She doesnt play favorites and has a kind attitude towards us all. Overall my experience has been great and Carol is one of the people who has contributed to making this a better experience.
So many of the groups are interesting. I have enjoyed learning about techniques to use in real life when I go home and get into sticky situations. Amy the therapist keeps things colorful and engaging because she makes people get involved in her groups, she doesn't just let you sit there on your phone and not participate. She has a very sweet personality and I like attending her classes a lot because I always learn something.
My case manager is Geneen. She is wonderful at getting clients ready to go and move on to the next chapter after rehab. She has set me up for success, helping me find a decent sober living and a doctor in my network back home. Im doing my after care with an IOP place in my area and I feel supported to take my next step. Highly recommend.
My guy Thomas is the best house keeping staff member at River Oaks! He is so helpful and sweet. He does his job very thorough and gets the job done. I like how dependable he is and does his job so professionally. This place is definitely better because of him.
The kitchen is my favorite place to go throughout the day to grab a snack or some coffee. The kitchen team always remembers me, especially Miss Glenda who knows everyones name and knows exactly what everyone likes. They have a large cafeteria with a big volley ball field beyond where we play ball every day after group. Glenda makes sure she saves trays for us while we play so we can all eat after. its just a welcoming environment.
