I was a little reluctant to go with an online lender, but was not disappointed. He gave me an incredibly competitive interest rate that no other lender could beat. Rob was incredibly thorough and always responded to my emails within 10 minutes - even late at night, which I didn't expect! He made sure everything was in order, and we closed on time. i have been happy with Rob and first mortgage direct.... they moved office around during the process so it slowed the process and communication a little but i think all customers wish it was faster....

We had used Rob for a mortgage on our previous home and everything went smoothly. When we first contacted Rob for this mortgage, he told my husband that we would be able to float the rate down from the rate that was locked initially if it went lower during the 30 day period after locking. Rob said he put in the request when we pointed out on 6/26 that the rate had come down to 5.25% from the 5.625 that we had locked. I don't think the closing table was managed well. Mutual of Omaha gives up opportunities to serve their customers well and to give their customers a tailored experience. Their arms are tied by the practices of the title company and the title company doesn't seem to communicate well, which causes issues that cost the customer money. I needed to close and have my previous loan paid off before November 30th. Because issues with title were found too late in the process, we did not close until the second week of December.

Rob is slow to respond, does not answer questions in full, late to deliver, and we have to double and sometimes triple check his work to make sure we are on the same page. This last refinancing process was a struggle, we were promised our loan would not be sold and it was sold. We chose Mutual of Omaha for a multitude of reasons, primarily the promise that our loan would not be sold and that the no-cost refinancing was hassle free. Neither of those have turned out to be true.
