I went in and it smelled like animals everywhere it was really fun i guess but the lingering smell of animals ruined the experience please shut down this place so san antonio never gets called "the one place with that nasty animal smelling zoo!"
it's a good experience, only spent money on the entry, kinda expensive for a small place but got to touch many animals & fish for no price at all!.
Free for teachers and they will accept your ID, email, picture, etc. They have so many animals indoor and outdoor. They mainly have lemurs, but they are so cute. I also learned that some of their animals are rescues from the area which is so nice to know.
If i could give negative stars i would. This place needs to be shut down, their animals have no habitats and are stuck in small cages. This is disgusting place to go and i highly don't recommend . More of a petting zoo then aquarium...
I almost never leave bad reviews of places but I was extremely disappointed in this place. The absolute worst part was that my daughter's boyfriend had saved up money to be able to surprise his daughter and me with the sloth experience, $120 for the two of us. We were expecting to be able to hold one of the sloths or at least interact with them. No one told us that we would not be able to do either of those things since they were sleeping. We scheduled the time and when I gave the lady the ticket I said "We can't wait to hol... read more
Zoo is a bit hard to navigate as far as finding animals because the maps they give you are not the best! Staff seemed courteous enough, which was cool. The hippo exhibit was unique, but seemed small and had me feeling sorry for the big guys!
I wish I would have read more reviews. 2 adult tickets, 1 child and 10 tokens were $100+. It was the oddest thing I've ever seen. The animals are in spaces far too small, which are filthy & have minimal natural appearance. I can't stress how dirty all the enclosures area. There are so many different animal types here. Even penguins in the smallest enclosure I could imagine. Oh, and random dinosaur statues too. So. Odd. You pass through an arcade and then pass by a ball pit and then bouncy house area. All so strange. The work... read more
My daughter wanted to check out the aquarium while she visited but it was just ok. We liked the variety of animals, however, I do not understand the extra charge to be able to touch them or feed them. I wanted to enjoy this experience but it was hard to when there are a lot of people in one space looking at the same animal. Overall it's good for little kids but school age and up will be bored.
There's such a wide variety of animals, we were pleasantly surprised. We really liked how interactive it was. A little smelly but there are a lot of animals in an enclosed space, totally understandable.
