The purpose of my visit was an urgent rash that has spread up my leg. Dr. Jamal didn't know what it was so took a biopsy then said she'd prescribe me a cream to start using immediately to help the rash. I went to my CVS and it was never called in, called twice more to have an urgent message put in to remind her to call in the prescription. I waited an hour in CVS hoping it would get called in! I finally left and now it's been 24hrs since my appointment and 5 calls later, and STILL no one has called in the prescription! What ... read more

The billing customer service person was not helpful and very rude. The doctor I saw was not warm at all and didn't really answered my concerns. Very overcharged. I will not recommend this place to any one.

Their billing is a scam! Do not go here. While the doctor was great, I had a crazy billing experience for just a routine check-up. The front desk told me I need to pay a $300 deductible, while there is $0 deductible on my insurance for check-up visits. When I asked for an explanation, the receptionist just kept saying that it's a new policy. I ended up canceling my appointment and calling my insurance who confirmed that they can't charge me anything for a routine visit outside of the copay. Also when I told the receptionist ... read more
Business response:
Hi Pertshouhi, We deeply apologize you did not have a good experience with our billing department. We take our patients' privacy very seriously and protect all credit card information. We would never charge a patient for no reason or share their information. However our receptionist did make an error in regards to your deductible and we do apologize for that. Had you kept your appointment with us, we would have confirmed the information with your insurance to make sure it was accurate before charging you. Regards Melissa ... read more
I have never been seen at this practice. This review is solely based on my experience trying to schedule an appt. I searched on zocdoc for a dermatologist in the bronx with soon availability. I found Dr. Scott Hammerman on the website, he had tons of availability at the Westchester ave location or so I thought. I called the practice directly as my zocdoc acct is in my name and this appt is for my daughter. At that point I was advised that Dr. Hammerman does NOT work at the Westchester ave location at all and the only one... read more
Don't go here. They are AWFUL. I went in for a rash on my leg. I called the day before to get a rough estimate of the cost and the person on the phone gave me a quote. All was fine until I got into the room and the doctor looked at my leg like I was utterly repulsive and then told me he had no idea what the rash was. He brought in someone else to look at it, and then they both told me they didn't know, both looking at me like I was disgusting. The doctor told me he was going to take a sample to test, and prescribed a cream -... read more
Way overcharged. Was supposed to be completely looked over by a doc but had a PA come in, partially look me over, book me again for a mole removal then WAY overcharged me.
Very corporate and only care for $$. Also, not very responsive or accommodating. I had a refill and they ignored it, then would only discuss if I came in next week. It's already been 2 weeks! Dr. Kleinerman was great, but she left to start her own practice.
Business response:
Hi George, We're very sorry to hear you had a negative experience at our office. Often times our providers will want to see the patient again before prescribing a refill to assess how the medication is working. Please feel free to reach out to Aisha Morgan at amorgan@schweigerderm.com or (646) 341-6436 to discuss this further. Regards, Schweiger Dermatology Group
I had a nostril piercing done and developed an irritation bump, which I went to the 55th st location to remove and my insurance covered it... Now I grew some strange cyst-like bump on my cheek and came here to get it off only to be told they'd have to charge me a cosmetic fee of $325 because it's not a medically necessary procedure. BS. Until he poked it, he didn't even know what it was. But it makes perfect sense because they make most of their money on tattoo removal and selling useless skin care products. Went to another ... read more

The billing department and customer service are horrible; the doctors are mediocre. My insurance denied my claim because they spelled my name wrong. I had to defend my employment status with the receptionist-- she suggested Verizon stopped covering me because they had a strike. Clearly something you should tell a patient. I looked past that, whatever. I had what I thought was an allergic reaction to my medicine but determined it was something else. Spoke to a nurse, told her my symptoms and what I was taking. I go in for ... read more
