The Chelsea location appears closed. It has been over 2 weeks and I have already been billed for a small skin biopsy. But no one has called me with the results and I fear it is all part of a bankruptcy proceeding. Does anyone know anything about this?
Schweiger Derm is horrible. They missed my melanoma in 2019, and when I had to have surgery their team didn't know about my procedure details. I've had trouble at every appointment, and they match high-risk patients like myself with physicians assistants which is not smart. I DO NOT recommend them.
Had some moles removed - sloppy job with stubs left - she did not dig them out, so I have to go elsewhere to have the stubs removed. No biopsy was offered. Billing page on website is extremely difficult to navigate - my bill did not have a "code" so it was very confusing. Please go elsewhere - so many better options than this place.
Made an appointment on 11/2/2020 only to be told when I arrived 10 min before that the doctor wasn't in. The place is completely empty and the staff inside is doing nothing. The receptionist at the desk said he was just about to call me which was 10 min before the appointment. Clearly he is not doing his job. In these times where people are are starving for work and business I would not have people working there like this. You can hire better and also not afford to lose new customers. Very unprofessional.
I've gone to this place for years. It's not personalized care but you can get appointments last minute, get in and out quickly, and then can go on with your day. I had an appointment and was recently billed for something that should have been covered on insurance. Over the past two weeks, I've called them twice and left voice messages, I used their Klara system to send 3 messages, and I've used their text system. I saw Dr. Tara Rao for a total of 4 visits last year for female hair loss. Initially Dr. Rao was very empathetic, gave me a clear diagnosis and explained treatment options in detail. I asked if I could get a biopsy just to confirm the diagnosis. Dr. Rao said she didn't think I needed it because she was confident in her assessment, but before I could respond she immediately went on to say she would be happy to do it to give me peace of mind. These guys have a problem with their scheduling system. Twice now, they have changed the date of an appointment without telling me. Only when I received emails confirming a rescheduled appointment two days off did I realize that the date and time had been changed. NOT good! In addition, it is very hard to contact your doctor to ask a question. Dr. Hammerman May have the worse manners I have ever experienced. I have been at this location to see Dr. Grossfield who is a pleasure to see and is always respectful and patient. Now back to Dr. Hammerman. I schedule my appt at 12 noon and arrived at 11:55am as it says on the door do not enter until 5 minute to your appointment. Absolutely, at all costs, DO NOT use this practice. After a year of waiting, I finally received insurance and went in to have a dicey mole removed. The PA told me that it looked weird (indeed!) and that she would "biopsy" it. Before she said anything further, it was removed. The removal spot, within days, became infected. I called and received an antibiotic cream, which didn't matter anyway, because the mole was basal cell carcinoma and I had to have more skin removed.
