I do not recommend going here. It was a very long wait to see anyone, and once I did, they rushed me in and out of the appointment so quickly I was barely able to explain the issues. I had a very small bump on my knee that I wanted checked out, and they quickly ran through what they would do about it without explaining that it would be a hefty additional cost. I love Dr. Heller who works there but ever since he joined Schweiger, I have had nothing but problems. Months after I have had an appointment, I get calls from collection agencies even though I have never gotten a bill. After hours of collecting my payment receipts I have not had to pay anything. Just got another call yesterday and now realize that I have to find another Dermatloogist. Totally unprofessional office and only out to make money. AVOID!!!!!
Overall my interactions with the staff and doctors (or whatever their official designation is) have been fine. What I take real issue with is when 'dermatology' practices seem more focused on the appearance of one's skin, than the HEALTH of one's skin. As seems to be the case here at Schweiger. All over their offices are various skin products for sale. Their treatment rooms have brochures hailing the benefits of about 10 different cosmetic procedures. I have a real problem with this. AVOID AVOID AVOID $75 billed to my insurance for an appointment at 5:00 PM which was considered after hours. Misdiagnosed with acne for Eczema. Ended up in Urgent care and then followed up with a REAL Dermatologist at Columbia University. Was also billed an insane amount, which insurance fully covered and then was given an extra bill. Luckily Blue Cross & Blue Shield does a stellar job of investigating. AVOID AVOID AND AVOID The Medical Ethics Board should be made aware of the horrific practices.
The office is horrible - it's new but the waiting room has bare unfiltered, harsh, led, bright lights in the waiting area. Definitely not autistic friendly. The examination rooms are all off a long cramped narrow hallway. I call this the assembly line approach. These rooms have better lighting. Waiting time is OK but the staff seems a tad unorganized.
Wow! Horrifying experience at this "factory" hosted by lying or gravely misinformed staff. I booked a surgical slot with my longtime dermatologist (whom I hadn't seen in 3 years due to pregnancy) for what was to be routine cyst removal. He's done this for me many times at his former practice down the street. When i arrived after no fewer than 5 phone and email reminders from the office, I was told my doctor would not be seeing me--instead a medical assistant would perform the surgery!! I hate to write a negative review. Unfortunately my experience with Schweiger Dermatology was a huge disappointment. They charged an ridiculous amount of money for my skin allergy treatment which didn't work at all. The billing department was both incapable and unfriendly. It is not an exaggeration to say that it was the rudest service I have ever experienced. After times and times of providing the needed information, they still made the same mistake didn't care to correct. I would never recommend it to anyone.
While they have highly qualified doctors, they could definitely do a better job with customer service. Every time I have an appointment i have to wait at least 1 hour. I've seen people complaining about the same. Last time I had an appointment at 7pm for a treatment that takes 2minutes. At 7.40pm the doctor 's assistant took me to the treatment room where I waited till 9pm. After no show from the doctor as she was busy with another client, I had to leave the center.
