I was told by one of their representatives that interest would not start accumulating until 30 days after the date of the loan being opened. However, when I called about 20 days later asking for when I could start paying off the loan, I was told interest has already started accumulating. The company I work for was trying to become a dealer for Service Finance. We applied twice, both times being denied. Which is unfortunate (ultimate decision was based on the owners credit, not sure why that matters though) because we could've brought them a lot of business. The other reason was because we we're showing that we hadn't used on of our main credit lines, even though they're our main source for materials. They're fancy with dem dere words, but when the rubber hits the road, they're ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. In other words, they participated in AT BEST a highly unethical transaction. If they were to do the appropriate research, I think it's safe to say that they'd agree that it is even FRAUDULENT. But alas, all they're saying is: "SHOW ME THE MONEY". SFC (the company that financed my roof) was extremely annoying. They called everyday to ask me if the roof was done. Guess what, call ****** Roofing, not me. That was a bit much and frustrating. I never got a copy of the original "blue prints" of the measurements and what material (color, type) was going to be used on the roof (that may have just been someone being forgetful, we are all human). Staff constantly making excuses for superiors. Work not done on time. Damage to materials. Lawn and driveway left with mess for us to clean. Not all the stickers were removed as promised. And miscommunication constantly from start to finish.
The Contractor submitted for payment twice before the job was completed and before the deck passed final inspection. The Inspector had to make several trips. You should allow more than 24 hours for a Consumer to state whether or not the job was completed to their satisfaction before releasing funds to the Contractor. The roofing contractor was absolutely awful. Worst home improvement experience as a home owner (38 years). I have not had much interaction with Service Finance Co. to date.
