Terrific food and ambiance. Katrina was lovely attentive server. Great special occasion spot. Pricey but worth it. Quit pleased!
We went to this restaurant for restaurant week and were very excited about trying all of the different courses. We were very disappointed with everything other than the lobster bisque. The rest of the food items we're lacking in flavor and the pork tenderloin was a strange consistency. The view is beautiful and the restaurant is as well andc we expeced the food to be of a little bit higher caliber.
We were so happy to find this spot on our latest trip to Hilton Head. The ugly burger was ridiculous, in a good way! Unique calamari app. Splendid CRAB cake! The SS Refresh was just what the libation doctor ordered. Live music on Saturday evening, and Sunday brunch were perfect accents.
It may have been the food we chose but we weren't thrilled with the food. Cesar salad was bland. My strip steak was fatty and the sauce was waaaaay too salty-and I like salt! The calamari was in strips which we were told were "the cheeks" -?? We've never heard of calamari cheeks but they seemed processed somehow.
Two of the three meals were excellent. I had the special striped bass and it did not meet expectations. All of my prior dining experiences were outstanding.
Ela's is one of the few places in Hilton Head where you get a good view of the shelter cove marina, good food and live music. We had the top two items on the menu, seared scallops with risotto and the pan fried grouper with truffle mashed potatoes. Both were good. I would have preferred my fish cooked a little less but that is just me. We had the lobster nachos for a starter which was very tasty with lots of lobster chunks.
Very nice atmosphere / ambiance. Food was outstanding, and even more outstanding for the money, which wasn't too bad. Service excellent. Will visit again!
We had 6:30 reservations and were seated more or less within a resonable time, which was fine because the bar staff was very pleasant as well as the keyboard player playing nice jazz tunes. I imagine the view is gorgeous when it's daylight, we were there after dark. Our meal was faboulous! From the wine to the Thanksgiving menu....everything was very well prepared. The food was very good but I was disappointed that they didn't stick with the menu that was posted when I went on their website. They showed a vegetarian option for a their special Thanksgiving menu. When I got there, it was not on the menu. I asked the waitress and she said the chef left it off and put ravioli in its place which was on their regular menu.
