To be honest, we were excited to visit the new Stone Creek location in Montgomery. First, let me say, the food was very good. However, we both felt that the atmosphere in the new dining area did not "feel" like fine dining (and the meal cost every bit as much as we have paid at Eddie Merlot, Carlo & Johnny and Embers). The lighting is too bright, the seating did not feel intimate and, to be honest, it's far too loud in there. We will try again when the weather warms up since we noticed that there is outside dining.
Took over an hour to get our food. Wasn’t even very busy. Food was average. Over priced for the quality and service we received.
I know you are new, but 45 min to get a small salad after having to flag down a server was a little much. Have dined here many times before at old location and was disappointed. The hostess brought our salads and never saw the server again. The salad was not of the usual quality, but no one came back to check on us.
it was a terrible environment, with our table basically in the main drag of bustle/hallway. The service wasn't as upscale as the old stone creek service - training is needed for the service staff.
The restaurant was uncomfortably noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation. The waiter was straining to hear our order and questions. We sincerely hope that the new location will include a big improvement in containing the noise. We go out for dinner to be together and share good conversation over fine food. We no longer go to restaurants where we have to yell at each other to be heard.
This is my favorite restaurant but this evening they had an “off” night. Even with it being an “off” night, the food was still excellent and above average based on other restaurants. The New York strip was cooked perfectly but the cut was not the usual exceptional cut we are used too. It was chewy and tasteless. Food was very good, was hoping for a quiet evening but to no fault of restaurant loud crowd very near us. Was not typical for the restaurant. Did have a accident when serving the meal very hot sauce was spilled by server on my lap.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the experience. The waitress was not great, didn't tell us the specials until I asked her. She read the specials and did not go into explaining anything really - not really into her job. She was pleasant, but not focused. I appreciate when the staff is enthusiastic about the menu and describes what is good. Scallops were a little underdone and not great. Bread was below average.
