I loved the sound of it before moving in. I was paying $550 a month for a “deluxe” apartment which ended up being a joke. I was missing a doorknob on the inside of my bedroom door, so I always had to use the deadbolt lock as a doorknob. Next to my toilet there was some sort of nasty orange looking fungus on the ground. At first I thought it was insulation or something, so I didn’t really worry until I noticed more of it covering the floor, and one day mushrooms started growing on it. Absolutely disgusting. When the first guy... read more

Angela, thank you for your review and making us aware of the issue. This issue is top priority with me and my maintenance manager. We will resolve this immediately and once again, thank you for reaching out to us. Our main concern is that our residents are well taken care of when residing on our property.
The front office writes checks the maintenance team can’t cash and the residents that live there have to pay for it. Parking, FORGET about it. Timely maintenance response, NO.
Business response:
Hi Cody, thank you for the review and making me aware of your dissatifaction. I actually sent you a personal email after I saw your twitter comment regarding your apartment and your feelings regarding our reserved parking. I just spoke with your roommate via email the other day and he was very pleased with his apartment. I know that we have always had a great line of communication and this is the first I am hearing personally of your apartment status. I saw where you placed a service request and I will personally be at your... read more
If anything happens and you can no longer attend College , do not sign a lease until you are 💯 because they will tell you that you can get out of your lease and then they tell you after signing you can not!!! So I strongly advising do not sign anything with them it is false advertising
Business response:
Renee, thank you for your feedback on our leasing procedures. Unfortunately when a resident renews their lease it is their financial obligation to fulfill the legal binding contract they signed . However, we do offer a lease takeover option if a resident cannot fulfill their lease term due to incidents that may happen during the school year. If you are interested in participating in this, please feel free to have your daughter or the parental guarantor contact our office and we would be more than happy to explain the process... read more
As a parent of a student who lives in the horrible complex I would not recommend it to anybody. They fined my son numerous ridiculous fees, 300 a day because he didn't turn the keys in by 9am when he moved out, 800 fee because his room needed painting and the carpet needed cleaning. The wifi rarely worked, which was needed for school, after numerous complaints they gave their residents garbage valet service... Don't let your student go here. They should be sued, and I'll probably be talking to a lawyer soon.
Business response:
Cathy thank you for your comments. We want to take a second to clear everything up for you. Everyone who moved out today was given a courtesy phone call 2 weeks ago to go over move out procedures, which included the time keys had to be turned in per the lease agreement. July 31st by 9 AM. Also emails have been sent about move out. If your son did not properly plan for his move out then he would only be charged for exactly the contract he agreed to. We have new tenants scheduled to move in which means we need keys turned in t... read more
Don’t even bother living here. We had roaches, the walls are thin, lost multiple packages, received unnecessary charges AFTER I broke out of my lease. Just live at Evergreen Terrace.
Business response:
Kaylin we are sorry you had a bad experience at Student Quarters. We always appreciate feedback from our residents. Also utility charges are based on what is left over after your credit each month that we give you, as stated in your executed lease agreement. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the staff as we will be glad to help explain and answer any questions you have. Thank you
Worst place to live, ever. The WiFi never works. Seriously. If you need WiFi for your classes, don’t live here because it goes out for days at a time. Whether it’s Student Quarters themselves fault, or the fault of the internet provider, doesn’t matter. The fact is you will not have any stable internet. Horrible for classes and panic inducing for finals. Even worse since summer started. And for someone who’s taking multiple online classes, this is a big issue. When my friends and I moved in, nothing was cleaned. One of our n... read more
Business response:
Joe we are sorry you had issues with the internet. We do appreciate feedback from people who live with us. We do not have you as a resident but again we appreciate your feedback and we will relay it to the internet provider
This place is awful. There was a large revving noise that was caused by the building itself and instead of fixing the noise my roommates and I were threatened to be fined even after explaining that the noise was not us. Student quarters does not care about the residents once they live here, only the money.
Business response:
Alex I have discussed the situation with my staff and no one would ever submit a fine for something like this. I know that the vents near your apartment can be loud especially with high winds. If you want to discuss it further please come by the office anytime. Brandon
I tried to move in there in August and it has been the worst experience. first I was told I was going to have for two months in advance and a 105 fee which meant that I had to pay around 1000 dollars to move in, when I was there I had to pay 1400 and I had to agree because I had nowhere else to go ( I am international) when I went to the room there was dog's poop on the floor and when i cleaned it ,it was odvious that it had been there for a long time. the other two girls on the apartment had NO IDEA i was coming, they were ... read more
My roommate referred me to sign a lease in march here and we were promised a referral bonus of $250 and only received $50. When he asked the staff in the main offices about it the they were very rude, and essentially told us that it wasn't their problem. We have also reported several problems in our unit and they haven't been fixed, despite being told otherwise. My three roommates and I will not be renewing our leases at the end of year. We will not reward bad business and false advertising!
Business response:
Lily Shaver, we are genuinely disheartened to hear that you have had an unpleasant experience with our team. We pride ourselves in providing exceptional service to all of our residents and I am concerned to hear that we fell short in your eyes. I would love the opportunity to meet with you personally to discuss your concerns. Please email me directly at blucas@peakcampus.com to set up a time that works for you. We want you to love living here so let’s work together to make it better! Sincerely, Student Quarters Johnson City ... read more
