Vet staff: decent/mediocre, administrative staff: in need of extreme improvement. Unfortunately, much of your interaction is in the administrative realm- phone calls, scheduling, records management, billing, etc. I've raised two puppies under the care of SAH and have been lucky- never any serious health problems, so I can't comment as to veterinarian expertise beyond the scope of routine exams. I do feel the vet staff employ the "nickel and dime" business model- servicing all of your needs in one visit and very quick to s... read more

Dr. Casper was very helpful and kind however all of the front desk staff was rude and made me feel unwelcome. When I called in after my dog had a procedure with a quick question the receptionist answered in one word and then hung up before I had a chance to ask another question. I would recommend Dr. Casper but not the clinic.

When we first got our first dog, we used to take him here, now that we two dogs we have since switched vets. A couple of cons: the parking lot(s) is small and can get crowded at times. The vet techs/people behind the desk can come off as snarky and "know-it-alls" which I didn't appreciate when had questions. Whenever we would take our dog in he would see a different vet every time so I felt like there was no continuity in care. One time when the my dog was having some skin issues the vet pulled out some type of vet encyclope... read more

I'm not sure how to rate this place. I just picked up my little 15 yr old dog today from boarding for 3 nights. I gave the front desk a well organized, printed list of do's and don'ts before boarding and one was: no perfume products. They bathed her and she smells like a perfumed shampoo, exactly what I DIDNT want since I'm allergic to artificial fragrance. When I walked in to pick up, I reminded the front desk to pls ask the techs to also bring out the remaining food, treats and saline I brought in with her. They didn't r... read more

I've had pets all of my life and realize that vets and veterinary services are expensive. This place takes it to a whole new level. My cat required emergency surgery. I accepted the "estimate" over the phone from the vet and authorized surgery. Two days later I was faced with a bill that was $1200 over what had been estimated though the procedure and care had not changed from the original estimation. When I confronted the head vet, Dr. Schrader (Vietnam War Veteran), he accused me of trying to avoid paying my bill and refuse... read more

I rarely write reviews, but I am so frustrated by my recent experience that I am compelled to share it. First, some background. We have been taking our lab Cody there since he was a puppy (over 5 years). Up until now, our experience with Suburban has been fine: routine visits, no special needs, competent service. In other words, our requirements, and therefore our expectations, have been modest. Like everyone else in the area, we are extremely busy (jobs, kids, house, etc.), plus Cody gets quite anxious when he is there ... read more

I recently moved into the Falls Church area from Sterling and needed to find a new vet. I brought my dog here yesterday for a skin infection and was shocked when I was handed a $400 bill. The office visit charge was 25% more than other vets in the area for service that I will descibe as competent but nothing to write home about. The vet spoke too fast and never let me get a word in. She never asked if I understood what she was saying and provided no room for feedback. Based on the prognosis, it would have been appropri... read more

Don't go to this veterinary practice. I have been going for years and finally decided to change today after one more time of being treated like a valueless customer. It doesn't matter if you have been a customer for years, you will be treated rudely and with disrespect. Because I like the Drs. (they are caring and professional) I put up with it, but there are other good veterinarians out there and I plan to take my business elsewhere. The other negative reviews are correct about the rigid office rules, the unreasonably hig... read more

Front desk staff was either cold or harried. Vets seemed helpful, but my dog kept getting shifted from one to the next one over the space of the 3 visits. Prices are about 20% higher than most vets, except for a few things. They do not have anyone to stay with pets overnight or on Sunday, which is very concerning to anyone who loves their pet!
