We've had nothing but good experiences with the vets and techs at Suburban. The only suggestion I would have would be to have separate areas for dogs and cats, as we've encountered a few inconsiderate dog owners here, but that's a function of the clients, rather than anything to do with the vets. There are a couple of vets here who specialize in cats, which is very nice, and all the techs are friendly, helpful, and calm and reassuring to our cats. Definitely a 5-star establishment.
LOVE this place. Used to take Lucy to City Paws, but now I realize how worth the drive is. Open 7 days a week, flexibility (Lucy was feeling icky, I made an appointment on the note that I'd cancel it if she started feeling better even with their 24hr cancellation policy, they were fine with that), very friendly front desk staff that clearly enjoys their jobs. Both vets we've seen have been great with Lucy - her first check up with shots, the vet was so gentle I think Lucy wanted to stay there forever! Also, bonus for ... read more
Sulley is not named after Disney's big blue Monster for no reason. Everything from exploratory surgeries (note the use of the plural form) to allergies, land us in the vets office on a more than regular basis. Upon discovering Dr. Schrader, the founder and director of Suburban Animal Hospital, we knew we had found ourselves a "forever" vet. During our first visit, Dr. S spent 45 minutes talking to us about the general health and bone development of our pup. I never felt rushed and he answered every question, no matter how ... read more
I really love this animal hospital. I always go to Dr. Benham who is one of the nicest vets I have ever met. She is always available for phone questions and treats my pets so well. I have two cats, both very rambunctious and playful, so it's comforting to me to know I have a regular vet. I've been going there since last year and since then I've gone there five times. The first time I went I had scheduled a neutering and was so busy, but luckily they let me drop him off at 8 am, and pick him up at 6. Over the course of that d... read more
Coming from a high quality vet, it was really disappointing this was the closest vet nearby. We have gone to this vet at least 3 times. We have a highly anxious dog that HATES the vet so when we make an appointment it's extremely important that we are exactly on time to minimize our animals discomfort. They would start appointments 10, 20, 30 minutes late with no explanation or apology. When we got our dog's nails cut which is $40 here, they didn't even cut her declaws and did a rough job on the other nails. There were other... read more
Since I can't respond to customer service, I'll add the following. There is no place around here that charges 40 dollars for a nail trim. Dudes down the street is 15. Also, 40 dollars for an ear wipe and then an additional what, 100 dollars for cytology? The wipe is needed to do the cytology so not sure why that is another 49 dollars on top of the lab work itself. Look, the vets here are great but you guys really run the bill up. Buyer beware.
Do not bring your animal here! The front desk is consistently rude, the vet's are incompetent and shouldn't be trusted to care for animals. The customer service is pretty much nonexistent. 0/10 do not recommend.
DO NOT SEE KELLY MCGRATH! I came in with my 12 year old lab for two reasons, a limp in her front right leg with a knot on her wrist and a upset stomach. Kelly did fully body x rays EXCEPT the leg. So we left with no answers. When I asked to have the X-ray done, they said I would have to pay additional money. Fast forward two months and I take my dog elsewhere for the x ray because her limp is not healing and it's bone cancer. Which over those two months has spread to her lungs and now it's untreatable. I cannot emphasize e... read more
After years of being with SAH, I will be taking my pups elsewhere. It is unfortunate, because we really loved Dr. Boyd. But the lack of respect, safety, quality of customer service and scheduling errors from the admin staff isn't worth returning. The customer service is non-existent; not as a result of the pandemic, but due to the staffing personalities and the lack of professionalism (I.e. Jennifer Ackerman, office manager). Additionally, SAH continues to increase their cost for services and medications when other practices... read more
