Too much staff...people kept walking by our table trying to take things off our table, when we weren't finished with them or asking us every five minutes if we were doing okay. Little too much of what I call 'over-service', but would rather have that than under service.
I had breakfast here today, and it was the best food, service, price, and decor I have experiencined in a long time. Everything was awesome about this place! I didn't leave feeling ripped off either. So much food and reasonablly priced. Homemade pop tarts? great. Turkey Sausage - best ever. My water and coffee never got empty. And i didn't feel like other diners were so close they could hear everything we said. I almost don't want to give this place such a good review because I want it all to myself.
I am so glad that there is another place on 14th that I can take my 14 month old daughter. The food is tasty and the drinks are even better! Be sure to save room for dessert. The "kids menu" items are pretty large, so I would only get those for an older child. Its also noisy enough that the diners next to use barely noticed when she screamed. I cant wait to go back!
Ted's Bulletin is one of my favorite restaurants. I remember dining at the Capitol Hill location before it popularity made it difficult to just walk in for a meal, and then again many, many times afterwards. I live in Northeast DC, on the edge of NOMA, but was still excited to learn that the 14th Street location was being built - I have many friends that reside on that side of town. Now we're all happy! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks - you can't go wrong if you go to Ted's!!
Ted's Bulletin is a nice little spot in Eastern Market. They just opened this location on 14th street, and they're still working out some of the kinks. The staff is still being trained and the kitchen needs to get a few things down better. Also, the noise is a bit much to take, though the space has as much to do with that as anything else.
Ted's Bulletin is an upscale diner with great ambiance. Beautiful retro decor and wonderful customer service. And one of the best bakeries in the region. You gotta try the pop tarts! Super long counter for diners near the booths.
We arrived to a practically empty restaurant at 5:45 and our order was promptly taken - however the service was suddenly non-existent as the place filled up - we waited over 1/2 hr for food and apps & dinner brought out at same time. Then drink orders were forgotten then dessert order didnt come - we got up to leave and asked about dessert - it was milk shake and they said they were backed up with 8 orders but then the manager made it and we left late for show
Food was fine, but nothing special; beer selection was poor; and service was lackluster. We ordered dessert to share but noted we had to leave soon for a concert. Waited 20 minutes just for a slice of cake. And had to get someone's attention to get it that soon. Wait staff was missing in action at various times. And one irritation that I'm noticing more often in DC restaurants: a required surcharge to the bill. When will restaurants just be honest and raise their prices. That would be fine, but surreptitiously jacking the up... read more
Had to wait a long time to place our order. Our mimosa which we ordered was not provided. We wound up cancelling it. The food was good once served.
