Ted's Bulletin is an upscale diner with great ambiance. Beautiful retro decor and wonderful customer service. And one of the best bakeries in the region. You gotta try the pop tarts! Super long counter for diners near the booths.
It's a very popular spot and the service just hasn't kept pace. It was 15 minutes before our drinks were brought to the table. One of them was the wrong order. 20 minutes before anyone came to take an order. I had to ask whereupon one of the hosts came and put the order in. My meatloaf (it's meatloaf, not complicated) was burned to char on the bottom and the top. It was bitter. We only saw our assigned server at the very end when we were done with eating. Really pretty disappointed in the food and the service.

There was saran wrap mixed in with my scrambled eggs. Also, the utensils we were given were visibly dirty. When I informed the waiter of these issues he quickly offered me a new plate of food and new utensils.

2/5 stars Mixed experience at Ted’s Bulletin. The food was genuinely good: the fried mozzarella appetizer was excellent, with a fantastic dipping sauce, and the strawberry tart for dessert was delicious. Service is where it fell apart. I’ve been going to Ted’s for many years … since 2010 on Barracks Row. I was there for brunch today with my Uncle who lives nearby to the 14th Street location and has been a frequent diner at Ted’s. After today’s experience at Ted’s, I may not return - certainly not to 14th Street for a long while … while the food was good (Ted’s is always consistently good), the service experience was that bad. My waitress Lania was fabulous. I just felt rushed 50 minutes into dining by the GM. Continued to passively aggressive push takeout boxes on my table; even handed me the check when I did not ask nor had any dealings with him. My waitress was even surprised I had my check already and apologized. Please sir in the all black outfit (later found out he is the GM) be kind! It costs you nothing!!
Ted’s Bulletin on 14th Street was a disappointing experience for our Mother’s Day brunch. We were seated at 10:30 a.m., and by 11:25 a.m. the manager was already pressuring our party of six to leave because another reservation was waiting for the table. This felt inappropriate, especially since the restaurant’s own policy states that reservations are allotted 75 minutes, and we were still within that timeframe. The food was good, but being rushed out during a special family meal left a very negative impression.
They really rush you through your meal and continuously come back around trying to guilt you saying they have more parties waiting. We had a reservation and this guilt tripping started about 70 minutes into the meal. We hadn’t even finished our food or paid for the check. Our server was fantastic though! No fault to him. I’ve been to Ted’s on 14th St. many times and have had inconsistent experiences, mostly related to service. I’ve never written a review. Until now. I can appreciate that Ted’s is a popular spot for breakfast and brunch on weekends, and that they may want to limit the amount of time people spend there so they can accommodate more diners.
