The ambience and the decor were inviting and carefully done. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The food, however, was a bit of a disappointment. Both my chicken fried steak and my husband's spare ribs were not tender, at all. My sweet tea was just much too sweet. The asparagus was nicely grilled, but the brussel sprouts were too loaded down with blue cheese. The service was really slow, despite the fact that the restaurant was over half empty. The food was okay but the requested ketchup and hot sauce didn't arrive until we were finished with our meal.
Décor and atmosphere is awesome. Bartender at the front bar is great. Service was terrible in the restaurant and the food was mediocre.
Service was horrible from hostess to server. Food was not that great. I loved the one on Cap Hill but this one is lacking on all fronts.
Nothing about my visit to Ted's made me want to come back. And my friends good smelled atrocious. Out servers switched halfway through the ordering of food and the one that remained never came around much, except to bring additional rounds of drink which took 20 minutes. You can find worse, but you can find much, much better in a 1/4 mile radius at places like Marvin, Le Diplomate and Barcelona.
We thought Ted's was doing restaurant week only to find out - it was not. My tomato soup was nice, though a little sour, and the grilled cheese- not sure what is so famous about it- needed a little oomp- rather than just using Kraft singles. My friend had the chicken burger/sandwich and thourghly enjoyed it. We took pop tarts to go, a blueberry cheesecake and an apple.
